Logitech Pure-Fi Elite

Logitech's good-looking, sweet-sounding iPod sound system is an excellent budget choice, despite some pesky flaws.

Excellent value. Full-bodied sound. Sleek styling. Includes an AM/FM tuner and auxiliary input

Enormous power brick. Erratic button and remote response. No alarm clock

Minor issues aside, Logitech does a nice job of updating its already great-sounding AudioStationand it now comes at a significantly lower price.

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite review: Logitech Pure-Fi Elite

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite

Sleekly designed iPod speaker system with AM/FM radio; line audio input; composite and S-Video output for displaying photos and videos from compatible iPods; digital clock; excellent LCD display; sounds good, with decent bass and clarity for a speaker...

No alarm to go with the clock; S-Video slot is recessed, making it difficult to plug in some S-Video cables; video output doesn't work with sixth-generation video iPods.

The Logitech Pure-Fi Elite stands above the iPod speaker competition with a can't-miss combination of excellent design, great sound, and a low price.

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite

Almost exactly the same size and shape as the AudioStation, the Pure-Fi Elite's most-obvious differences are physical. Instead of fabric speaker covers, the Elite protects its speaker drivers behind black-metal mesh grilles. (Like those on the...

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite Review

Well, Logitech has an answer for you - the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite. This small, modern and highly capable device, will allow you to plug in like you never thought possible. Boasting “Audiophile acoustics” and compatibility with a wide-range of iPod...

Dynamic-range ; Form and function ; Video out (Composite & S-Video) ; Digital AM/FM radio ; Sleep timer ; Preset playlists ; Charges iPod

Unable to navigate the iPod's menu

After all that investigation, we still have to ask: "how well does the Logitech Pure-Fi Elite involve you in the action?" The answer is that it immerses you in it. At no time during the experience do you notice anything but the crisp, clear,...

Good-looking and feature-heavy

Unconvincing sonic delivery

Logitech Pure-Fi Elite

If you have plenty of hundred dollar bills to blow on an iPod speaker system, the Logitech AudioStation is a strong contender for your money.

Sleekl design ; AM/FM tuner and clock ; Plenty of inputs and outputs ; Decent bass and clarity for a compact system

Expensive ; S-Video slot is recessed ; No alarm to go with the clock

Five hundred bucks is a lot to spend for an iPod speaker system, but if you're trying to decide between this model and the Bose SoundDock, the Pure-Fi Elite certainly holds its own in terms of style and sound quality (some might even argue it's...

Expensive ; S-Video slot is recessed ; No alarm to go with the clock

Like a lot of speaker systems of this type, the Pure-Fi Elite has very little in the way of stereo separation since the speakers are essentially next to each other. But Logitech has equipped the unit with a 3D stereo feature to help widen the sound...

Pretty good for price!

Overall great speakers for the price!

Overall good pair of speakers. For the price, you get good performance. Trust logitech over other cheaper brands like iHome. Bass could be better but for such small speakers, definitely enough, especially for a small room. You can control your ipod...

Doesn't have alarm! For something that has a clock, you'd expect it would have alarm. The lcd can be a little too bright, especially when you turn off the lights. The whole screen is lit, not just the numbers. Screen doesn't show what song is playing...

Sounds Great!

Not sure how to, or if it does, but I am unable to just navigate through my playlists without saving them into pre-sets. Maybe be the newness and not quirte figured the unit out yet.

Sounds good, seems easy to use with nice features. Price is good, way less than the B___ and sounds as nice.
