Logitech UE Boombox Review

At first glance, the Logitech UE Boombox looks a bit like something Judy Jetson would carry to a beach party on an asteroid. It's all smooth curves and brushed aluminum, evoking the Mac Pro's cheese-grater aesthetic, as well as mid-20th-century design.

Portable and rechargeable. Surprisingly deep bass. Six-hour battery life. Large volume buttons on the side

Kinda heavy. Battery is not replaceable, once it eventually dies

The aesthetics may be a bit retro, but the UE Boombox packs a punch, and offers fantastic sound quality for the money. Even Mr. Spacely would approve.

Logitech UE Boombox

We've seen plenty of earphones from Logitech since the company bought Ultimate Ears a few years back, and now the UE brand is being expanded into a speaker line. The Logitech UE Boombox ($249.99 direct), has a sleek, minimal design, and streams...

Quality wireless audio performance at moderate volumes. Portable and rechargeable. Simple, sleek design. Easy to set up

Overpriced. Distorts on deep bass tracks at top volumes. Exaggerated bass response not for audiophiles

If you like your low end, the $250 Logitech UE Boombox delivers a sculpted, bass-heavy response in a portable design. But this wireless speaker suffers from distortion at top volumes, and at this price, that shouldn't happen.

Logitech UE Mobile Boombox

Last year, Logitech wowed us with its Mini Boombox , a tiny Bluetooth speaker that puts out surprisingly powerful sound and doubles as a speakerphone. It earned our Editors' Choice for portable Bluetooth speakers, so when Logitech announced a...

Tiny. Very portable. Inexpensive. Warm, clear sound. Solid speakerphone function

Bass could be stronger. Speakerphone, while clear, doesn't get particularly loud

You might find louder and sharper Bluetooth speakers than the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox, but you won't find a better all-around package close to its price.

Logitech UE Mobile Boombox

If you're looking for something that closely matches the Jambox in portability and sound, but costs substantially less, this $100 boombox can't be beat.

Great sound for the size — dual 1-inch drivers inside this tiny box get mighty loud without getting too cruddy. Rubberized outer shell helps it stay put during playback, and you can pick from an array of colors. Works as a speakerphone. Battery charges...

Not much bass to speak of. Same with stereo separation. Logitech claims a 50-foot wireless range, but it’s closer to about 20

Overall, the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is a very good little portable speaker: it’s not quite the rival of its top $100 competitors in sound quality or volume level, but its compact size, color options, and other little frills make it appealing...

While the plasticy original Logitech Wireless Boombox was vaguely alien and bone-like in shape, the Logitech UE Boombox looks like an astronaut’s toolbox: a sleek, silver aluminum frame with a full-length carrying handle on the top, a gray...

Overall, the Logitech UE Boombox is a very good portable wireless speaker system, benefitting as much from its striking new industrial design as its added Bluetooth conveniences and enhanced bass performance. Users who are wowed by its looks are likely...

Today, the smartphone is the center of many people's audio lives. It's where our music lives, where we discover new music, and how we share it with friends. But when it's time to listen - and we aren't on-the-go - this can be a problem. After all, when...

Logitech UE Boombox And Mobile Boombox Review: Bluetooth Speakers With A Rich Sound

Very easy to carry around ; Better sound than the speaker of your smartphone ; Perfect for podcasts

Not very powerful

These two speakers are highly capable for different uses. While you won’t take the Boombox with you, it will be a very polyvalent and enjoyable speaker in your home. The Mobile Boombox, on the other hand, can make an excellent speaker to listen to...
