Great Buy

These sound great. The sound is very clear, covers the room well and the sound seems to not put any strain my ears. They seem to be better suited for classical/Jazz over hard rock. I haven't turned these up yet, so I can't comment on the higher volume...

The shape of these speakers can make then look "tilted" when viewed at an angle when they are next to the television. These cannot be backed up to a wall due the lower rear bass ports, they sounded a bit "muddy" to me but a little separation from the...

Sweet Sweet SOUND!

You CAN use banana plugs with these speakers!! Read the instructions! Pairing a center channel was a little hard. I managed to track down a Motion C center channel. I believe these were the proper centers for these speakers. I used these speakers in a...

I recently purchased 2 more of these now totally 4 Motion 12 speakers. For the money, nothing comes close to the sound that these can put out. I love the clarity and how easy they are to listen too. they can easily fill a house with clear loud sound

I do not like how unstable the speakers can be, but it is not really an issue. ML supplies spikes for carpeted rooms

High-end sound, at a mid / low-end cost

Not Bi-ampable, but the internal crossover seems dialed-in perfect. At $250, I can't complain about that; at full retail, I might. I placed one pair as main / fronts into a mixed 5.0 system, and they work well. My other pair were integrated as fronts...

I LOVE the sound of the "Folded-Motion" tweeter; it just sounds..."real." To my ears, even the highest-end "regular" tweeters never sound right. Midrange is crisp, revealing little details in music I've never heard before; even in other very high-end...

Made in China. Sub-standard MartinLogan build quality. I bought two pair of these; nicely, NewEgg sent me pairs with close serial numbers. The pair with higher serials had misaligned top (dipole) sections, requiring "adjustment." Also, one of the...

Amazing speakers.

I'm using these speakers solely for music. They're connected to a Yamaha R-S700 stereo receiver, with a Yamaha iPod dock and Pro-Ject turntable. The sound is incredible. Lows, mids and highs. Before connecting them to the Yamaha, I had them running off...

Just the right size (not too big), excellent build quality, removable grills, great packaging and they just look cool. Lows, mids and highs are incredible. If you have a powerful source, preferably one capable of driving 4 Ohm speakers, then you don't...

Binding posts are terrible

Great Sounding Stereo Speakers

These speakers are paired with the Yamaha A-S1000 and a high quality DAC receiving signal from a Sonos and it mostly plays Rhapsody but also some from my lossless format cd collection downloaded to my computer hard drive ; For the price of 250 each...

At this price, there are no cons. If you are in the market for excellent speakers at this price to a couple hundred more then you will not likely find a better product than the motion 12's ; They are a little tipsy but this can be fixed with some easy...

Stop contemplating and buy. You will be happy.

These speakers sound amazing for the price. I bought them at 299, wish i would have waited for the 249 deal, but would put these against anything in the casual enthusiast speaker arena (anything under $1000). I agree with other reviews in that the...

Definitely need a sub for audiophiles, but seriously who would buy these and not already have a decent sub or plan on getting one? You'll want at least a 250+ watt RMS sub (psw505 or better) or don't bother with it, these can cover bass acceptably up...

Better than BOSE in performance

Now I can enjoy music also. I have a BOSE 6.1 coupled with yamaha RX-A3000BL reciever and Klipsch Reference RW-12d 12" Powered Subwoofer. happened to listen to Motion 12 speakers and decided to buy one to fill the 7th channel.Yep, only one channel the...

Very good mid range which BOSE 6.1 lack. Sweet guitar sound reproduction. Easy connection. Solid Construction. Discounted price

Design! Easy to tip forward. I had remove the rear legs to make it lean backward a little. I think this issue got addressed in the replacing new motion 40 speakers

GREAT SPEAKERS

I would buy them again. If you are thinking about them do it. I replaced some old KEF speakers with these.

Great sound ; they look great ; couldn't have been a better price $279.99ea ; The way they were shipped was amazing. No damage at all

not free ; Not shielded

GREAT SPEAKERS

Check mfgs web site. These speakers are being discontinued. The replacements are Motion 20 and Motion 40 at about $750 and $950 each. At less then $300 each these are a steal.

The speakers are well packaged and sound great. They definately need the break-in period. Over about a week you will hear the difference. I bought mine for $300 each. They came in about 4 days - with the free shipping. I watched Hugo - they were as...

They are tall speakers which can be tipped over when cleaning if you aren't carefull

Nice boxes!

Denon AVR-4802R, Oppo BDP-93, Velodyne 12" sub, 16' by 20' room. Considering another pair of 12s to complete the HT set-up if I can't find a used pair of Prefaces. Would also recommend a Motion 8 as the center channel (newegg, are you listening?)...

After hearing a friend's ML Preface speakers, I wanted to hear more. I was then disappointed to learn that the Motion 12 replaced the Preface. On the outside chance that they may not be too different sonically, I went to a retailer to listen to a pair....

Aesthetically, I'd like the wood finish of the Preface on the 12s but it would seem that black HT speakers are the current rage; it's a minor point
