Mirage Loudspeakers OM-R2

Using 4 OM-R2's for the surround and rear -center speakers in a 7.1 system. Replacing 2 Mirage 260's. Chose these over the Mirage Omnisat speakers for better dynamic range and for a more "omni" effect even though these are not omni-directional speakers...

Smooth through entire range. Toimbre matched to existing M-series speakers

Mirage Loudspeakers OM-R2

These speakers have been outstanding for both music and movies, especially DD and DTS. I have them mounted on the rear wall because I did not have space on the sides, and they work perfectly. They are very detailed. Front to rear effects are...

Mirage Loudspeakers OM-R2

Excellent speaker for home theater. It's paired with Rogers main speakers and Mirage center speaker OM-C2, and amplified by a Yamaha 2095. Delicious! Highly recommended.

Product Specifications

In the 80's Mirage revolutionized audio with the introduction of the bipolar speaker. Until then, the conventional thinking in loudspeaker design was all "forward radiating." Mirage Bipolar speakers incorporated drivers that radiated sound in-Phase to both the front and the rear. Now, Mirage has taken the next step with the debut of "Omnipolar" technology: a quantum leap in speaker design. The Mid/High section of the OM-Series cabinet is ultra slim and shallow, yet it contains two sets of identical drivers. The unique cabinet designs and driver configurations produce a dramatic sonic difference. With wide dispersion into the listening environment, sound radiates not only 360', but in a spherical pattern. No matter where you are in the room, the result is sound that is open, spacious, and absolutely believable. The OM-R2 is ideal for use with the Omnipolar Series, as a timbre-matched rear speaker for Dolby Digital Surround, Dolby Pro Logic or DTS home theaters, producing an enveloping sound field. A flexible mounting system enables simple wall or ceiling installation.
