Orb Audio Mod1

In New York City, it's tough to find stereo speakers that look good and work well in a small apartment. The Orb Audio Mod1 ($239 per pair, direct) speaker set comes closer than most, with unique round enclosures available in a variety of eye-catching...

Attractive design. Transparent, neutral sound. Plenty of volume. Airy highs, even despite the lack of a dedicated tweeter

Virtually no bass punch by themselves

The Orb Audio Mod1 stereo speakers sound incredible when paired with the company's companion Super Eight subwoofer, but on their own, they're not quite full-range.

Review: Orb Audio Home Theater System

Quick — what's the secret to building a versatile surround sound system? Finely calibrated speakers, receivers, and subwoofers? Wrong! The correct answer is balls. Specifically,...

Awesome clarity for both music and hi def movies. Easy to assemble. Surprisingly solid craftsmanship. Hardly any distortion at high volumes. Satisfyingly heavy and durable speaker stands. Metal rods on HOSS stands have been hollowed to hide speaker...

Not the broadest sound field we’ve encountered. Want ear-level speakers? Extra speaker stands are going to cost you at 9 a pair. Center channel speaker stand kept coming loose. Speaker wire can be tricky to secure due to enclosed clamps

Orb Audio Mod4 Speakers Review

Orb Audio has presented a refreshingly contemporary speaker system that somewhat miraculously couples big, expansive sound with a relatively small form factor. The system is almost infinitely expandable and, with the exception of a few ergonomic...

Attractive speakers ; Big sound ; Excellent tactile bass response

Sub aesthetically mismatched ; Confusing, complex mounting options ; Difficult assembly when using HOSS stands

Orb Audio Mod2 Speakers Review

Not all of us have the luxury or the ability to spend thousands of dollars on high priced, high performing, extremely accurate but outrageously ugly speaker systems. And those of us that have that

Excellent Sound Quality ; Super high WAF (small and cute) ; Better than expected low end range ; Very cool ; Modular

Distorts at higher volumes ; Unusual wire connection points (bare wire only) ; May not be suitable for larger rooms

Orb Audio People’s Choice Speaker System

Spherical loudspeakers are perhaps too easily dismissed: “Oh look, it's round. Cute gimmick. Next…” That box speakers are easy to build certainly doesn't guarantee sound quality. In fact, designers of quality speakers are constantly rebelling against...

With the People’s Choice package, Orb Audio stakes a claim to high-end performance in the sat/sub category. While it’s subject to the limits of compact sat/sub sets in general—mainly midbass integration—it also has tremendous appeal thanks to its high...

Review: Orb Audio Home Theater System

When it comes to home audio, especially home theater speakers, it's easy to have the mindset that bigger is better. After all, the bigger the speakers the more sound they can produce. While the latter may be true we have to admit we were intrigued by...

Stylish ; Nice sound ; Affordable starter package

Need sub-woofer for bass ; No Banana clips ; Speaker wire can pull speakers due to light weight ; System can quickly become pricey

Overall we were quite happy with the way the Orb Audio Home Theater System performed. You get nice sound for a decent price. Just make sure you splurge and purchase a sub-woofer to get the optimum sound for your home.

Orb Audio Classic One Stereo Speaker System Reviewed

This $549 three-piece speaker system uses the same Mod1 satellites as Orb's 5.1 home theater system. Mated with the Orb Super Eight subwoofer to make a threesome, the Mod1s make for a fantastic small room system....

The Classic One system is beautifully constructed, especially theMod1 satellite speakers, and are assembled right here in the U-S-of-A.The entire system's ability to be virtually invisible means no moresacrificing valuable floor and or shelf space in...

For true full-range performance for those lower octaves or for moreslam and bass output the Super Eight sub isn't going to hack it if youhave a medium to large room. If your room is a bit larger or you like abit more "meat" on your musical bones,...

The Classic One speaker system from Orb Audio is a home run in my bookand a true triple threat: affordable, stylish and great sounding. TheMod1s are easily integrated into virtually any living environment whilethe Super Eight sub is compact enough to...
