Sony HT-CT260 review: Excellent sound that fits nearly every living room

The ; delivers excellent sound quality for a budget sound bar/subwoofer system. It has a distinctive, angular design, plus a built-in remote control signal repeater in case the sound bar blocks your TV's remote sensor. There's also integrated Bluetooth...

Some similarly priced sound bars sound even better. And the hexagonal design may not be for everyone.

The Sony HT-CT260 is our go-to budget sound bar pick, with excellent sound quality, built-in Bluetooth, an adaptable design, and no major missteps.

Sony HT-CT260 Home Theater Soundbar

The Sony HT-CT260 soundbar adds Bluetooth to an already highly capable and modestly-priced two-piece audio system.

Excellent value. Built-in Bluetooth. Powerful bass. Warm-sounding midrange response.

Treble response isn't the clearest. Stereo and surround imaging isn't quite expansive enough.

Sony HT-CT260

It's not the cheapest sound bar you can buy, and its sound quality falls short of what premium sound bars can deliver. But few competitors in its price class can deliver as good a balance of performance and features. The Yamaha YAS-101 (Est. $250)...

Excellent value, Built-in Bluetooth support, Deep, effective bass

Treble could be clearer, Average connectivity

Sony HTCT260 speaker bar fills your room with virtual surround sound

Consumer review (cnet.com)

DO NOT buy if you were planning on using bluetooth at all!

My biggest issue with this sound bar is the bluetooth. My phone can't be more then 5-8 feet away before the sound starts cutting in and out in the most infuriating way. I returned the first one I bought just thinking it may have been a quality control...

Sounds great.

Bluetooth range is horrible and connections are limited

Sony > Polk, LG, Samsung, Boston A, etc.

I am one to do a LOT of research and testing before I buy an expensive electronic product, especially if I would like a product to last. A little background... I am a college student in my third year of engineering, I am a perfectionist, and I don't...

+ Sound is clear, bass is more than enough, design is sleek and modern + Bluetooth connectivity + Quick set up

- Odd hexagon shape, a bit bulky in depth - Only connections are optical , 3.5mm aux analog, coaxial, and bluetooth
