Sony HT-ST7 Sound Bar

Sony HT-ST7 Sound Bar

I think that sound bars fall into two main categories. The first is simply getting better sound than your TV. Flat panels have pretty awful sound, so adding on a $250 sound bar can make a sizable improvement. The second is trying to provide high...

Sony HT-ST7 review

Sound bars have a reputation for being a cheap and convenient home audio option that may not wow you with their sound, but hit that critical level of "good enough."

The Sony HT-ST7 is the most stylish sound bar we've seen, with a brushed metal cabinet and solid build quality. It sports three HDMI inputs, plus Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, allowing the sound bar to receive full surround-sound signals. And...

The HT-ST7's sound has its merits, but overall it doesn't live up to its lofty price tag. AirPlay is a surprising omission at this price, especially given its superior sound quality. And there's no doubt that separate speakers are a better investment...

The Sony HT-ST7 is a visually stunning sound bar with a fine feature set, but it doesn't sound as good as you'd expect at its sky-high price.

Sony HT-ST7 7.1 Soundbar Review

We ran the Sony HT-ST7 Soundbar through a full barrage of measurements and listening test, even taking it apart to look at the guts. Our review revealed some big product strengths and some weaknesses.

Built-in Bluetooth and NFC ; Wireless Subwoofer ; HDMI pass-through with HD audio decoding ; IR pass-through ; Wide soundstage in Movie mode

Treble can sound too bright ; Lackluster subwoofer build quality and performance ; Dialing in sound to personal preference can be difficult

The Sony HT-ST7 from Sony joins the already crowded sound bar market. How does it fare? It's worth a listen, according to Adrienne Maxwell.

Sony HT-ST7 review

If square speaker drivers existed then Sony would have certainly used them for the HT-ST7, a soundbar that's got more hard edges than Jason Statham and more angles than a protractor factory. Even the remote control is a perfect oblong with triangular...

Hi-res Blu-ray audio decoding; good connectivity; easy to use; powerful, controlled sound; impressive movie playback

Not cheap; music performance lacks polish; substantial size; remote control isn't backlit

Great Sound Bar!!!

I had compare the Bose Sound Bar over the Sony HT-ST7 while at Best Buy, I was going to purchase the Bose Sound Bar but notice it only had 1 input Optical, I needed to connect multiple device, HD Cable Box, PS3, PS4, and XBOX. So I decided to go with...
