Sony SA-NS300

Check out our overview of the Sony HomeShare system for more information, and links to reviews of other HomeShare components.

Small footprint ; Decent wireless range in low traffic areas ; ⅛ mini jack input

Little bass ; No battery operation ; Quirky media file compatibility

For convenience, the small size of the NS300 is a real bonus. It’ll fit just about anywhere and fill medium-sized spaces with music

If need them, this is the speaker

Great sound quality and normally works great. I've had some problems when I try to use two or more of these on my network (maybe a bandwidth issue?). A little difficult to set up, but now the are exactly what I wanted.

Save your money

Poor interface, sound and network speed just to name a few. I thought Sony had better quality than this. It sounds like a cheap Sony walkman from the 80's. Most of the time it skips or has a 15 second delay. What a piece of trash. :-(

Too few devices supported

This speaker came free with a blu-ray player we bought. It works great with the player, but that's about it. I use a Mac computer, my husband uses Windows XP and I have a Droid phone. None of these are compatible with the speaker. It is really annoying...

A Work in Progress

I own the NS-300 and noticed that the reviews here carry the same themes as on other sites such as Amazon. Many customers writing poor reviews are disappointed that they can not use their Mac, iPhone, or iPod with this product as one would expect. If...

DLNA and UPnP compatible

Simply the wrong product for an Apple customer

Sigh if you're a Mac user

I love the idea of the Home Share systems and connecting multiple audio equipment to your wireless network, but sadly it's a big headache to set the thing up because I use a Mac.

Small + mobile

You have to jump through hoops to use it if you're a Mac user

No AirPlay support limits the use

I have two of the SA-NS300 I got with the STR-DN1020 AVR. The homeshare works great but still needs some work and features. The part that kills the homeshare the most is the iPhone app. The iPhone app does not allow playing of music content from iPhone...

Size, homeshare

No AirPlay support, iPhone App is very limited use

Awesome

Finally, a speaker that is small enough to place in any room, and I don't need an entire theater system to power it. Just plug it into an electrical outlet anywhere in your house and you can control the music being played at any time from your phone....

placing the speaker anywhere in the house, iphone app is very convenient

setup was a bit tricky on a mac

Sony Failure

I purchased this item so that I could stream music from my sony micro player. Not only could I not do this but none of the instructions (there were 5 booklets) was in English. I contacted Sony for instructions and after several attempts I gave up My...
