Tannoy Revolution DC6T Floor-standing Speakers

Scotland, home of whisky, many successful racing drivers and Tannoy. Originally founded in 1926 England, Tannoy has been headquartered in Scotland since the 70s. Tannoy is best known for their dual concentric speakers where the tweeter is at the center...

For music lovers that listen to a wide selection of genres, these could very well be your speakers. It didn’t matter if I listened to mainstream hip-hop, pop like Chromeo or Two Door Cinema Club, heavy electronic like Noisia, or well recorded acoustic...

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6

So assuming you've scrolled down this page and read everything from top to bottom, instead of just skipping down to the really good bits you will have...

Exceptional bass even without a subwoofer, brilliant separation, great treble and mid-range

Costly

Made for the true audio enthusiast, Tannoy's Revolution Signature DC6 speakers don't come cheaply, but they offer absolutely phenomenal sound quality that has to be heard to be believed.

Tannoy Revolution DC6T

Best floorstander £700-£1500, Awards 2011. The cut-price Tannoy Revolution DC6Ts are a real bargain

Solid, purposeful build and style ; exciting, spacious and balanced sound

Other floorstanders sound a little richer and fuller

Best floorstander £700-£1500, Awards 2011. As complete a package as you’re likely to see for under £1000

Tannoy Revolution DC6T review

This brand new member of the Revolution series looks like much better value than its Signature equivalent

Beautiful overall tonal balance ; Fine, deep bass

Could have been more time-coherent with a sweeter top end

Tannoy Signature DC6T review

A floorstanding 2.5-way version of the Best Buy DC6

Deep bass ; Stylish and high-quality finish ; Good detail

Can sound a bit too aggressive when played loud

This compact floorstander has a lovely wood finish and high-class drive units. The bass is deep and even and the midband gives good detail at low levels, but the sound does tend to get edgy when pushed

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6 review

Yet again, Tannoy's dual-concentric driver confirms its timeless benefits

Neat and attractively shaped enclosure gives impressive freedom from boxiness even when close-to-the-wall ; Lively, even bass and fine coherence and delicacy through the voice band

Lacks some energy and warmth through the upper bass and lower midband, so overall balance is a little cool

An attractively styled standmount that works very well with close-to-wall reinforcement. Has a lively, even bass underpinning a smooth and coherent if slightly over-projected upper mid and presence. Lacks warmth, but imaging is stable

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6T

Expensive, but the Tannoys fully justify the price tag with their expertly balanced performance

Excellent build quality ; impressive bass weight and extension ; authoritative sound

Hint of coarseness in treble - be careful when partnering with electronics

Tannoy Revolution DC6T SE

Best floorstander £800-£1500, Awards 2013. These two-time Award winners are still good, but no longer top of their game

Attractive finish ; easy to level and adjust spikes ; enthusiastic delivery ; focus and precise-sounding ; excellent detail and dynamics

The speaker cable terminals could be easier to read ; Newer rivals offer more detail, greater scale and refinement

The Awards we gave them show we really liked the DC6T SEs first time out – and we still do.

Tannoy Revolution DC6T- £800

This brand new member of the Revolution series looks like much better value than its Signature equivalent says Paul Messenger

Beautiful overall tonal balance with fine, deep bass

Could have been more time-coherent with a sweeter top end

Good looking and compact floorstander has a beautifully judged overall balance

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6T

Tannoy's Dual Concentric technology has concentrated on single point source with phase integrity which is a difficult combination to crack. They also emphasise the importance of inaudible high frequency sound - which has much evidence to support it -...

Analytical and comfortable with a broad range of music. Creates a solid sound stage. Compact design works well

A tiny extra touch of midrange warmth wouldn't hurt
