Tannoy Revolution DC6T Floor-standing Speakers

Scotland, home of whisky, many successful racing drivers and Tannoy. Originally founded in 1926 England, Tannoy has been headquartered in Scotland since the 70s. Tannoy is best known for their dual concentric speakers where the tweeter is at the center...

The toughest part may be finding a dealer to audition the DC6T but Tannoy assures me they are in the process of expanding their dealer network. If you’re in the market for a sub two thousand dollar pair of floor standers consider the DC6Ts for the top...

Tannoy Revolution DC6T review

This brand new member of the Revolution series looks like much better value than its Signature equivalent

Beautiful overall tonal balance ; Fine, dee bass

Could have been more time-coherent with a sweeter to end

One of Britain's oldest hi-fi and professional audio brands (albeit now owned by TC Electronic of Denmark), Tannoy first introduced its Dual Concentric drive unit back in 1948 and a variation on this component lies at heart of the company's latest...

Dee bass ; Stylish and high-quality finish ; Good detail

Can sound a bit too aggressive when layed loud

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6 review

Although it's currently owned by Danish ProAudio operation TC Electronic, Tannoy remains one of the Grand Old Names of British hi-fi (and ProAudio) loudspeakers, retaining its own entirely individual and unique approach to product design and development.

Neat and attractively shaed enclosure gives imressive freedom from boxiness even when close-to-the-wall ; Lively, even bass and fine coherence and delicacy through the voice band

Lacks some energy and warmth through the uer bass and lower midband, so overall balance is a little cool

So assuming you've scrolled down this page and read everything from top to bottom, instead of just skipping down to the really good bits you will have...

Exceptional bass even without a subwoofer, brilliant separation, great treble and mid-range

Costly

Made for the true audio enthusiast, Tannoy's Revolution Signature DC6 speakers don't come cheaply, but they offer absolutely phenomenal sound quality that has to be heard to be believed.

Tannoy Revolution DC6T SE

Best floorstander £700-£1500, Awards 2012. Tannoy supercharges its Award-winning DC6Ts and makes them even better

Attractive finish; easy to level and adjust spikes; enthusiastic delivery; focus and precise-sounding; excellent detail and dynamics

The speaker cable terminals could be easier to read, but that’s it

If you’re looking for the best speakers under £1000 then it’s hard to look past these Tannoys. They build on an Award-wining design and take it to another level.

Expensive, but the Tannoys fully justify the price tag with their expertly balanced performance

Excellent build quality ; impressive bass weight and extension ; authoritative sound

Hint of coarseness in treble - be careful when partnering with electronics

Tannoy Revolution DC6T

There's much to like about Tannoy's Revolution DC6T speaker package, but the subwoofer loses it a star

Smart finish ; compact centre and rears ; dynamic, musical sound ; capable with stereo

Subwoofer lacks definition and agility ; not as cohesive as the best

Subtle, yet still dynamic Switch to movies and they can’t match the best for cohesion. The front three speakers make an impressively integrated trio, the small centre delivering clear dialogue with authority.

Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6T

Tannoy's Dual Concentric technology has concentrated on single point source with phase integrity which is a difficult combination to crack. They also emphasise the importance of inaudible high frequency sound - which has much evidence to support it -...

Analytical and comfortable with a broad range of music. Creates a solid sound stage. Compact design works well

A tiny extra touch of midrange warmth wouldn't hurt
