Cheap, Great, and powerful

I originally bought this product to go with my cheap ($60) Home Theater DVD player combo. The sound sucked, from what I read if you add a deceant powered Subwoofer (the only kind) th esound will greatly be enhanced... It Was

Awesome bass in a small package

I have this subwoofer in a large master bedroom hooked up to an Onkyo TX-8011 receiver and coupled with two Mission bookshelf speakers with 5" woofers. I used the speaker line input since the receiver does not have a sub output. I got it hooked up in...

Deep bass in a small space with great controls that let you customize when the subwoofer will "kick in" to add depth

Depending on your audio source, you may have to adjust cut off levels and volume

small with a big boom

Have owned the sw215 for about 3 monts now and for its size great sounding bass even in a fairly large room i shopped around and listened to several subs before deciding on this one it had the clearest sound and the response is where it should be if...

Nice sounding good looking sub for budget minded folks

Rides with the melodies with tight form fitting bass. Looks fantastic with a solid & compact build, fits anywhere. Perfect for apartments, medium to small rooms. Music & movies both sound great! This Yamaha has a left and right hookup, unlike 80

Not for large rooms...won't rock any Discotec. Instructions manual rather vague, you have to read it several times before you get it

Yamaha YST-SW215 Subwoofer Speaker

It is a very great sounding sub for the money. Having just lost my Mordaunt Short due to age, I was told about this particular sub and how good it sounds for the price. After buyimg it It is determined that it is money well spent.

Can't beat it for the price

I was searching for the least expensive sub I could find that promised decent sound. I didn't want to rattle the windows since I usually use the home theater system after the kiddies are in bed, so I didn't need much. I was getting more bass from my...

A lot of bang for the buck!

I purchased this subwoofer last week and I don't know how I lived without it! The sound from my dvd's and cd's have been dramatically improved. I have it hooked up to my Kenwood VR-806 receiver(see review) and my basement has never sounded better. The...

VERY INEXPENSIVE. Distortion free. Automatic shutoff

Great Sub for the price

Like most things in life you get what you pay for. But in the $150 range this is the most potent 8" sub you can find. It has phase settings, cross over settings and standby settings.

Good distinct non-booming base. Great Value

The movie/music button that doesn't seem to do much

Product Specifications

The YST-SW215PN is designed to acoustically match the speakers in the Piano Finish 125 Series. The YST-SW215PN includes Advanced Yamaha Active Servo technology (Advanced YST). Advanced Yamaha Active Servo technology (Advanced YST) is a unique system in which the speaker and amplifier work together to cancel out impedance so the speaker unit has a perfectly linear motion. Advanced YST helps to ensure the highest levels of sound pressure and overall performance. QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses down-firing drivers with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate the sound efficiently in four horizontal directions. The reflective plates negate any effects caused by the floor surface and reduce resonance between sound waves reflected from the floor and the unit.
