X-bit labs - Cooler Master Hyper Z600: Passive Cooler with Excellent Potential to Be Active

By Sergey Lepilov (xbitlabs.com)

New solution from Cooler Master will not leave overclockers unfazed: it can work brilliantly in passive mode and boasts great potential for active cooling. Add superior looks and you get a very attractive product, which we are going to review today.

Cooler Master Hyper Z600 turned out a very interesting new solution. Probably the most interesting cooler of all we have tested over the last two-three months. First of all, this cooler will be of great value and interest to the owners of quiet PCs ...

Cooler Master Z600

By Régis Jehl (digitalversus.com)

The most distinctive feature of the Z600 is that it's sold as a passive heatsink, which means it's delivered without a fan, although there is room to fit up to two of your own if you find it necessary

- Good performance for a passive heatsink ..., - ... and even better with a fan, - Sensible design

- Very bulky, - Heavy at 1.05 kg, - Motherboard needs to be removed for installation--although a very solid fitting

This is an excellent heatsink whose brilliant cooling performances put it amongst the very best. It's not for you if you've got a small case, though, and you'll need to think about adding a fan to get the very best results.

Sweet Cooler...worth the money

By Dnasty (newegg.com)

If your into hard core gaming, over clocking, or extreme system use, this is the cooler for you.

This is a great cooler for the money spent. It may be a bit big, but worth the price if you want to keep your CPU cool. I am running the 9750 and with the 120mm fan on there ny temps are running around 31-32 C. I was able to push it to 4.1G and had Zero p...

Just a bit big, and heavy, however with the back plate that Cooler Master supplies there is no need for concern.

Cool and Quiet

By Rippem (amazon.com)

Cool and Quiet

Performs as advertised, keeps the CPU cool and it is very quiet even with the optional CoolerMaster fan. I chose to use the fan as it is my intention to overclock the system. Without the fan and no overclocking system was fine as well and nearly silent.

Excellent cooler in passive or active mode

By C. Loo (amazon.com)

Excellent cooler in passive or active mode

It is huge and well worth the money. If you put two 120mm fans on it, you can cool any CPU from quade core to dual core enough for overclocking. The only downside is I had to remove my motherboard to install my fan.
