Zalman CNPS9900 LED

By Nathan Edwards (maximumpc.com)

When Zalman told us its new CNPS9900 LED was the best CPU air cooler ever, we took the news with a grain of salt. For more than a year, the company’s CNPS9700 LED had been our top air cooler, until Thermaltake’s DuOrb usurped Zalman’s place at ...

Powerful performance, slightly easier install. Includes Socket 1366 bracket

Intel install still requires mobo removal ; fins ; may draw blood from careless users

Be warned, however: Like its predecessors, the CNPS9900’s fins are apt to draw blood from the careless installer. But given this cooler’s performance, we figure maybe the CNPS9900 simply requires a blood sacrifice to kick-start whatever unholy ...

Zalman CNPS 9900LED CPU Cooler

By Frank Stroupe (thinkcomputers.org)

Today I will be looking at the Zalman CNPS 9900LED CPU Cooler. Zalman has taken the tower styled heatpipe cooler in a totally different direction by additions to the designs of their 9300 and 9500 CPU coolers. With its huge expanse of copper fins and ...

Innovative design, 837 sq in of heat dissipation surface area ; Massive copper cooler looks sharp ; Fan is quiet except at the highest speeds ; Effectively cools a heavily overclocked i7

Cooler is pretty heavy to be supported by only four screws ; Will be a tight fit in any midtower, will likely not fit in some ; Rather pricey

The 9900LED doesn't put out a lot of light, it has a low-level blue glow, just enough to highlight it in a windowed case.

By bandeezee (maximumpc.com)

I thought the TRUE 120 was the best in the business, no? Many people don't like to test the TRUE 120 because it doesn't come with a fan, but that's the beauty of it, you can pair it with any fan you want. At the very least use a similar fan to whateve

Yay or Nay?

By AntiHero (maximumpc.com)

Are these really worth it? I mean I don't know much about this stuff(learning for my next major build), but don't you have to modify the case just to house it? I mean it's cool and all that you could decorate it and when times may get tough, clone yoursel...
