Review Acer Iconia Tab A700 Tablet

Fresh out of the oven. Tablets with 10.1-inch display, NVIDIA Teg

Good workmanship; High resolution display; Great image quality; Smart and usefull features; Adequate performance; Very good speakers; Fair price

Quite heavy and thick; Not particullay rigid; Low luminosity display; Highly reflective glass

The Acer Iconia A700 tablet has to be measured up against other full-sized tablet competition. Currently these are the Fujitsu Stylistic M532, Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T, Acer Iconia Tab A510, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 und Google Nexus 7.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 Review

Acer has been diligently releasing, improving, and iterating its Android tablets for a year now. The Iconia Tab A700 is its fifth major crack at tablets and its diligence is visible in almost every detail of the design. This time, to better compete...

Has a rear camera ; full-size USB port ; microSD support ; Runs Android 4.0 ; Fast quad-core processor

Overheating issues ; Interface feels laggy at times ; No full USB port ; Heavier and fatter than the iPad 3 ; Android tablet apps lag behind iPad ; 10.1 inches is a bit too big

Acer has built another solid tablet, but only for those willing to sacrifice a bit on style, weight, and size.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 review

We've reviewed a handful of Acer tablets in the last year or so, and the conclusion for every one seems to be a resounding shrug. There's rarely anything wrong with an Acer tablet, and everything from build quality to software is generally pretty solid...

Excellent display ; Solid performance ; Software tweaks are actually useful

Drab design ; Poor cameras ; Not enough tablet apps available

An average tablet with a great screen

Acer Iconia Tab A700

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is a good midrange 10-inch Android tablet with an above-average screen, but it lags behind other high-resolution-display tablets.

Sharp high-resolution screen. Fast quad-core processor. USB host mode

Clunky build. Lacks apps to take advantage of screen resolution

Following the success of the New Apple iPad ($499, 4.5 stars) with its 2,048-by-1,536-pixel Retina display, Android tablet manufacturers are getting the picture—the high-definition picture, that is—and packing in the pixels. Much like Asus, with its...

Acer Iconia Tab A700

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 sports a high-def display and 8 hours of battery life, but it runs hot and is a little chunkier than the competition.

Click to EnlargeThere are now two Android tablets on the market with 1920 x 1200-pixel displays, the $449 Acer Iconia Tab A700 and the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity. The former costs $50 less than the latter, and offers about half an hour more of...

Acer Iconia Tab A700

We'll skip the long contextual intro about how high-powered Tegra 3 tablets are becoming a dime a dozen and get straight to the meat: the new Acer Iconia Tab A700 is an NVIDIA-powered slate with a super-charged screen. Yes, this device is all about the...

Highest-res display in Acer's lineup ; Clear, loud audio ; Comfortable design

Glitchy performance ; Performance and battery life trail competitors

Though the A700 stands out with its crisp 1920 x 1200 display, its performance could use some fine-tuning. Until then, we can think of similarly priced tablets that run more smoothly, and last longer on a charge.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 With HD 1080p Display Review

Apple upped the ante in the tablet market with its Retina display found in the third-generation iPad, which offers a resolution of 2048x1536. Since then, some Android tablet manufacturers have followed suit by increasing screen resolution and providing...

1920x1200 display ; micro HDMI port ; An upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean should be available in a month or so

Lackluster performance ; Average 5 megapixel rear-facing camera

If you've been envying your Apple iPad-toting friends with their high-res Retina displays, but are a die-hard Android user, the A700 presents an interesting alternative that's worth considering. In addition to its display which supports a higher...

Acer Iconia Tab A700 review

With the recent introduction of Google's Nexus 7, Android tablets have reached a bit of a crossroads. To the right lies the current trend of beefed up specs and raw computing power; on the lef...

If you want to roll the dice and hope that Jelly Bean’s Project Butter improves performance, than the A700 certainly has the guts to perform well under better circumstances. But if you’re willing to shave 3 inches off the size, and you aren’t object to...

Iconia Tab A700 review: Acer's terrific 10.1-in. tablet

Acer's latest Android tablet brings fast performance and a great screen to the market.

Good performance, slim and easy to carry, bright display

Can get warm after prolonged use, inactive SIM card slot

I worked with the A700 on a daily basis for a week, and used it for a variety of tasks, from listening to audio files and viewing images and video to working with Acrobat files, playing games and reading an e-book. The tablet's 802.11n Wi-Fi connected...
