Acer Iconia Tab A700 Review

Acer has built another solid tablet, but only for those willing to sacrifice a bit on style, weight, and size.

Like the A510 and A200 before it, Acer has built another solid tablet, but only for those willing to sacrifice a bit on style, weight, and size. It runs Android 4.0 and has good processing power, but it’s heavier and bulkier than what we’re now seeing...

Acer Iconia Tab A700 review: a 10-inch ICS tablet with Tegra 3 and a 1,920 x 1,200 display

We'll skip the long contextual intro about how high-powered Tegra 3 tablets are becoming a dime a dozen and get straight to the meat: the new Acer Iconia

Highest-res display in Acer's lineup ; Clear, loud audio ; Comfortable design

Glitchy performance ; Performance and battery life trail competitors

Though the A700 stands out with its crisp 1920 x 1200 display, its performance could use some fine-tuning. Until then, we can think of similarly priced tablets that run more smoothly, and last longer on a charge.

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 gets a high-res screen, shoddy implementation

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is a capable tablet with a sharp, high resolution screen, that ultimately can't compete with lower priced tablets that offer better performance and/or value.

The ; high-res screen sharpens text and graphics to near-iPad Retina levels. Also, it's comfortable to hold and includes both Micro-HDMI and microSD.

The base version of the Tegra 3 can't keep up with the high-res display, resulting in frequent hangs and stutters while navigating. The cameras are unimpressive.

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 overreaches with its high-res screen and is ultimately outclassed by tablets that offer better experiences for the money.

Acer Iconia Tab A700 review

With the A700, Acer essentially took its Iconia Tab A510, slapped in a 1,920x1,200-pixel resolution screen and gave it a new name. Unfortunately, Acer failed to compensate for the extra bandwidth a high-res screen requires. The result? Stuttery...

Acer Iconia Tab A700 review

We've reviewed a handful of Acer tablets in the last year or so, and the conclusion for every one seems to be a resounding shrug. There's rarely anything wrong with an Acer tablet, and everything...

Excellent display ; Solid performance ; Software tweaks are actually useful

Drab design ; Poor cameras ; Not enough tablet apps available

An average tablet with a great screen

Acer Iconia Tab A700

The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is a good midrange 10-inch Android tablet with an above-average screen, but it lags behind other high-resolution-display tablets.

Sharp high-resolution screen. Fast quad-core processor. USB host mode.

Clunky build. Lacks apps to take advantage of screen resolution.

Acer also tweaked the Android browser, adding the ability to display URLs as QR codes for sharing—though I don't know anyone who uses QR codes. One feature missing from the A700's browser, which can be found in the Asus tablets, is the ability to...

Review Acer Iconia Tab A700 Tablet

Fresh out of the oven. Tablets with 10.1-inch display, NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Android 4 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) are almost a dime a dozen now. Can Acer's Iconia A700 Tablet stand out from the crowd?

Good workmanship, High resolution display, Great image quality, Smart and usefull features, Adequate performance, Very good speakers, Fair price, We were pleasantly suprised by the quality of the speakers on the tablet, which enhanced the experience of...

Quite heavy and thick, Not particullay rigid, Low luminosity display, Highly reflective glass, The display needs a higher brightness and the glass needs to be less reflective. This would greatly increase the tablet's mobility
