Acer Iconia W3-810-1632

Between large-screen phones (sometimes described with the ridiculous term "phablet"), 7-inch Android tablets, and the excellent iPad Mini , it would seem that Windows 8 has been forced to carve out its territory in relatively larger screen sizes. Most...

Parts of the Windows 8 experience work surprisingly well in the Acer Iconia W3 , which is a smaller 8-inch tablet. The carry-along keyboard is clever, and battery life is excellent for a non-Haswell system.

Outside of tile-based Windows 8 apps, navigation is a pain. Screen quality is exceptionally poor, and the keyboard dock lacks a touch pad or even a track point.

The smaller 8-inch Windows 8 tablet is a form worth exploring, and the Acer Iconia W3 can be fun to use, but it's also buggy and held back by shortcuts and lackluster features.

Acer Iconia W3-810 Review

The first 8-inch tablet with Windows 8 combines long battery life with a rich software suite and lightweight form factor, but is it worth your money?

Review: Acer Iconia W3-810 is too little, too lame

Billed as "the world's first 8-inch Windows tablet," the Acer Iconia W3 is proof that getting there first isn't always the most important achievement.

The keyboard designed to go with the W3 is, to put it diplomatically, terrible. First of all, the W3 doesn't really dock with the keyboard -- it just sits in a groove along the top, where it can be easily dislodged with one good jostle. Forget about...

Acer Iconia W3

Until now, tablet support for Windows 8 was limited to 10-inch devices. This is less than ideal from a portability standpoint. The Iconia W3 is the first 8.1-inch tablet to ship with support for Windows 8 Pro. While it does offer improved portability,...

Incredibly portable and affordable full Windows 8 tablet

Grainy display, like all current generation Atom Windows tablets, it's not terribly fast

If you're a sys admin or sales type that needs networking programs or Windows-based x86 programs to get your job done, the Acer Iconia W3 is temptingly hyper-portable and affordable. Once you've installed your Windows programs and finished with the...

Acer Iconia W3-810 Windows tablet

Acer's Iconia W3 is an 8.1in Windows 8 tablet that could struggle to find a niche

Battery life ; MicroSD card slot ; USB and HDMI ports

Too small to be useful as a full-blown Windows machine ; Performance isn't great ; Screen

Acer's Iconia W3 tablet will appeal to those of you who have longed for a tiny Windows 8 tablet. It's an Atom-based device with a low screen resolution and it should be used strictly for consumption tasks such as Web browsing, watching video, listening...

Acer Iconia W3 review

Acer has launched the Iconia W3, an 8in tablet running the full version of Windows 8 - it's the Atom-powered slate that rejects Windows RT in favour of the real thing

"This is a piece of junk."

I won't be buying any more Acer products.

I have no idea if there are any pros. I haven't yet been able to use it.

Out of the box, brand new, did now work. After hours on phone with tech support in India was required to ship it to Acer for repair. After $26 Fed Ex charges and 14 days it was returned to me still not working. So now I must ship it back.
