Amazon Fire HD 10 review (2017): A $150 tablet that's actually good

You won't find a better tablet value than the Fire HD 10. It's cheap and powerful, and it finally brings a solid display into Amazon's slate lineup. It's the ideal machine for binge watching, though be prepared to live without Google's apps.

Incredibly low price ; Sharp 1080p screen ; Significant RAM and processor upgrade ; Hands-free Alexa works well

Still no Google apps ; Some slowdown issues with games

The Fire HD 10 is a glimmer of hope in the barren Android tablet wasteland. It fixes everything we didn't like about the last model, while dropping down to an incredibly low price for a 10.1-inch slate. It's just a shame that such a well-crafted...

Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) review

Crisp, loud stereo speakers ; Hands-free support for Alexa ; Great performance ; Affordable

Underwhelming screen ; Poor cameras

No matter how you slice it, Amazon’s new tablet is a bargain. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a cheaper Full HD, 10.1-inch tablet at the Fire HD 10’s price point, and its excellent Alexa integration is nearly worth the price of admission alone.

Amazon Fire HD 10

With a sharp display and hands-free Alexa integration, Amazon's 10-inch Fire HD 10 tablet is the best value for your dollar under $150.

Affordable. Sharp display for the price. Good overall performance. Easy-to-use interface and Alexa integration. Dual-band Wi-Fi.

No Google Play Store apps. Low-resolution camera.

At $149.99, the Fire HD 10 undercuts most entry-level Android tablets by $30 to $50. You pay for the discount with lock screen ads (which you can get rid of by paying $15) and a tablet that's completely tuned to display Amazon content, with no Google...

Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) Tablet Review

Couch surfer. Amazon Prime customers who do not mind some advertisements will find the 10-inch seventh generation Fire HD Tablet great value for money. As expected, the tablet is no high-end product, however it definitely comes with a few high value...

good display ; decent speakers ; fast Wi-Fi ; Alexa included ; fast SoC ; expandable storage

old base software ; slow micro-SD card slot ; bad camera

Those who purchase a seventh generation Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet will receive a multimedia specialist in Amazon's universe without any major shortcomings. It is exactly that which makes the device a real alternative and it is available for quite a low...

Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) hack: bootloader unlock, root, and recovery tools

Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) Review: Hold Alexa in your hands

Amazon has equipped its 10-inch Fire HD tablets with hands-free Alexa, effectively turning the tablet into a mobile Echo Dot. Whenever you call “Alexa”, the digital assistant appears like a genie from a bottle and attempts to help you using its...

Child protection ; Full Alexa integration ; Sharp, colorful display ; Stereo sound on the device

Many Android functions, services and the Play Store are missing ; Heavy focus on its store

If you can deal with the software’s peculiarities, you will be happy with the Fire Tablet HD 10. One benefit of the 2017 models is undoubtedly the Alexa integration, which turns the tablet into a mobile Echo Dot and thus, a voice remote control for...

Amazon Fire HD 10 (2017) review

The Amazon Fire HD 10 was the best full-size tablet made by Amazon in 2017, and it's a solid, albeit unremarkable slate that doesn't cost a lot of money. Sure, it's no secret the tablet market is in decline. People don’t need to buy a new tablet...

Amazon’s Fire OS Plastic design Poor cameras
