Apple iPad 4 review: Marching on

Three Apple tablets in a single year. This is more than anyone asked for and yet, by some weird logic - or lack thereof, not too many for Apple to successfully sell. All fine and dandy, unless you got the iPad 3 - better luck next time if you were...

9.7" LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen, 2048 x 1536 pixels; scratch-resistant, oleophobic coating ; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, carrier-dependent hotspot support ; Optional LTE connectivity (data only) ; Optional GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support...

iTunes still required for uploading most of the content ; Reflective screen struggles outdoors ; No standard USB port ; No stereo speakers ; No GPS receiver in the Wi-Fi version ; No memory card slot ; Lack of basic iOS apps - stocks, clock,...

The iPad was not the first tablet but it can claim sole responsibility for the explosive growth of the tablet market. Then the iPad 2 came to drastically cut the weight and double the processing power, and the iPad 3 crowned the collection with the...

iPad review (late 2012)

Welcome to the new new iPad, same as the old new iPad. Well, mostly, anyway. It was less than eight months ago that Apple grafted a Retina display onto its world-conquering tablet, giving every other slate on the market resolution envy, while...

Same great design ; Amazing display ; Lightning-fast performance ; Stellar battery life

Lightning connector may mean buying new adapters

Apple's latest iPad is blisteringly quick and offers even better battery life than before. With a beautiful display and a massive app selection, it's the one to get.

iPad (fall 2012) review: The best 10-inch tablet gets a little better

Apple's fourth-gen iPad gets a surprise autumn upgrade less than a year after its debut. But do the faster processor and other tiny tweaks make it worth upgrading from previous versions?

The newest ; faster A6X processor adds extra system speed and graphics power. Improved worldwide cellular compatibility makes the LTE model a more appealing proposition. And the iOS App Store remains best in class, with the widest selection.

The fourth-gen iPad is otherwise identical to its recent predecessor -- same size, weight, and Retina screen. It's heavy to hold in one hand, and most older accessories won't work without investing in a pricey Lightning adapter.

The latest iPad adds several tweaks and improvements to secure its position at the top of the tablet heap. It's better all around, but third-gen owners need not apply.

iPad (fall 2012) review

Editors' note (March 18, 2014): Having previously taken it off sale, Apple has brought back the fourth-gen iPad as its lower-cost full-size tablet, starting at $399. Its premium tablet is the $499 iPad Air .

Apple iPad (4th Generation, Wi-Fi)

Now in its fourth iteration in two years, the Apple iPad continues its reign as king. The best large tablet you can buy today, the Apple iPad (4th Generation) has it all: top performance, a stellar screen, a surprisingly good camera, speedy Wi-Fi, and...

Incredibly fast. Gorgeous screen. Unbeatable app selection

New Lightning connector means some old accessories won't work here

iPad review (4th generation, late 2012)

Last week at an event in San Jose, Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced two new iPads. One, the iPad mini, is a legitimately new product. The other was a small upgrade to the 9.7-inch iPad, bringing a...

Display is still best-in-class ; Apps launch faster and smoother than ever ; App ecosystem is unrivaled

iOS is lacking some features ; Lightning ecosystem is relatively small ; Still pricey with LTE

A definite upgrade, but if you bought the last one you'll be just fine

Review Apple iPad 4 Tablet

Apple's new iPad: 3+1 = Retina. Apple presents two new iPads. The Mini is small and the 4th version of the iPad is named "iPad with Retina display". Got it? The question is: do the A6X chip, a better front camera and Lightning interface justify a new...

Exemplary workmanship and choice of material, Fast WLAN module, High CPU and GPU performance, Good display with stable viewing angles, Very long battery life, Extensive list of optional accessories, The good performance and the front camera, which now...

Not very slim and light for a high-end tablet, Buyer will need to pay extra for LTE and 3G modules, Meager connectivity, Increasing the storage space is not possible, A slimmer and lighter case. In addition, the screen should be brighter

Apple iPad 4 vs Microsoft Surface RT

Now that the fourth-generation iPad is making the rounds, it's going to be one very interesting showdown between it and the Microsoft Surface RT. Sporting the same starting price points, these are arguably the most highly prized premier tablets at the...

There’s good reason why these two are regarded by many as the two most outstanding tablets on the market right now. Every way we dissect it, there’s no arguing that they exhibit all the qualities we look forward to seeing on premier tablets.

Apple iPad 4 Review

Just a little over six months ago, the third-generation iPad became the Cupertino-based company's flagship tablet, as it moved the industry along its normal course by introducing us to a Retina Display ready iPad. Now in the present, it has seemingly...

Premium construction ; Impressively detailed and accurate Retina Display ; High caliber performance ; Above average battery life

Not much of a serious upgrade to the iPad 3
