Review Archos 101 Tablet/MID

Bargain tablet? In addition to a plethora of tablets in various s

light and slim; reasonably priced; HDMI; USB 2.0 + mini USB; long battery runtimes; silent operation; hardly noticeable warming of the case; Android 2.2; very small and light power pack

Poor case stability; Very angle-dependent display with only adequate brightness and limited contrast; no access to Google's Android Marketplace...; ...and thus marginal app-availability; low rated 8 GB flash memory; no UMTS available

Practically non-existent in the price class with similar equipment. A class above in terms of quality and also better tuned, Apples iPad is justifiably the current class leader. Otherwise also tale a look at the WeTab, Point of View Mobii and the...

Archos 101 G9 Turbo (250GB)

Back when we reviewed the previous version of the Archos 101 G9, we weren't very impressed with its performance. It had some aesthetic flaws, had a poor camera, and was too slow for our taste.

The Archos 101 G9 Turbo version runs Android 4.0, has a neat kickstand, and can play full 1080p HD video.

The Archos 101 G9 Turbo's processing speed is slow, its video records out of sync, and it has some awkward design errors.

Despite its Android 4.0 update and slightly upgraded processor, the Archos 101 G9 Turbo's glacial lag and cumbersome build makes this tablet safe to skip over.

Archos 101 G9 (10.1-inch)

The tablet business is pretty cutthroat (just ask Hewlett-Packard), and with the release of the Amazon Kindle Fire just weeks away, it's only going to get scarier out there for would-be iPad competitors.

The Archos 101 G9 (8GB) runs 1080p video smoothly and has a good-quality screen, and its kickstand is a useful addition

The tablet is too large for what it offers and has awkward button placement. Also, its single camera had poor recording quality

The Archos 101 G9 (8GB) delivers a complete Honeycomb experience, but its rough design, low-quality camera, and awkward button placement make it feel rushed to market.

Archos 101 (16GB)

The Archos 101 is one of few Android 2.2 tablets with a large 10.1-inch screen. Extras such as a front-facing camera, Mini-HDMI output, USB host and sync ports, and microSD memory expansion are impressive considering the tablet's low price.

Charging requires wall adapter, screen quality and responsiveness are mediocre; onscreen keyboard is awkward; not fully compatible with Adobe Flash; lacks support for Android Market and Google Mobile apps, such as Maps, Navigation, Contacts, and Calendar.

The Archos 101 tablet's price is right and the screen is ample, but the experience is outdated and performance is sluggish.

Archos 70 and 101 Internet Tablet review

We've seen our fair share of budget tablets from the Augens, Cobys, and Viewsonics of the world over the last six months, but let's not forget that before everyone and their mother jumped into the cheap-o Android tablet pool, Archos was already in the...

Very thin and light ; Responsive capacitive touchscreen ; Great media playback

Crappy LCD with poor viewing angles ; Hardware feels cheap ; Sluggish at times

Archos 101

A low price and sleek design make this Android tablet a tempting iPad alternative for those on a budget.

Among 10-inch Android tablets, the Archos 101 is the slimmest, most solid, and, at $299 ($349 for the 16GB version), the best value thus far. However, that doesn't mean we don't have reservations. For such a large screen, the viewing angles are too...

Archos 101 – Great competitor to the iPad

Archos 101 is a ten inch Android tablet that is one of the many, many tablet PCs coming out for 2010. It is light, thin and priced very affordably at $299 for the eight gigabyte model and $399 for the 16 gigabyte model. This is the first time that I...

In terms of connectivity, the Archos 101 has gone a bit off Android script. The ports are all crowded on the left side and there are a lot of ports to play around with. You get sockets for power adapter, headphones, and microUSB port for computer syncing.

Archos 101 Android Internet Tablet Review

One company who are known for their quality mobile devices are Archos and a couple of months back they announced their own up to date range of Android tablets, the 70 and 101. These devices are based on Android 2.2 (currently) and aim to provide a...

Archos have found a perfect balance of price, quality and performance with their A101IT Android Tablet. It looks and feels great, performs well when configured and offers the excellent flexibility which is present on all good Android based devices.

Archos 101 review

A highly usable Android tablet with a bright and vibrant 10.1-inch screen

Responsive screen ; Good selection of features ; Battery life ; Decent performance

No Android Market ; Quite reflective screen ; No 3G support

Archos 101 Internet Tablet review

Apple has done an excellent job of carving an “elitist” niche for itself in the portable audio and video player market, something that has been reaffirmed most recently with the success of the iPad. Since its products frequently come under criticism...

Wide range of connectivity and generic support, slim and light, reasonably priced, flexible Android 2.2 OS, kick stand

Display viewing angle is quite poor, some users will be limited to Archos’ own application library, bad camera

Archos addresses all of the iPad’s biggest faults with the 101 and if you’re not an Apple fan this is one of the best all-round tablets available at present
