Asus MeMO Pad 8 Android tablet

Asus packs the hardware of a powerful tablet into an 8in, sub-$350 bargain

Great build quality ; Long-lasting battery life ; Miracast

No NFC ; No 3G

The Asus MeMO Pad 8 isn’t just another me-too Android tablet. Unique software additives and Asus’ sense of evolving style give it a well defined personality. For its size it packs a hearty hardware punch, and on value it is only surpassed by one other...

Excellent battery life and microSD expansion make the MemoPad 8 a worthy Nexus 7 alternative

The Asus MemoPad 8 is a little cheaper than the Asus-built Google Nexus 7, but each tablet has its benefits. The Nexus 7 has a higher screen resolution, more powerful components and the latest version of Android, while the MemoPad 8 has a physically...

Asus MeMo Pad 8

If you want an affordable 8in tablet then this is worth a look – but there are too many flaws in its performance for us to really recommend it

Cheap 8in tablet ; Good Android implementation ; Well-built ; Reasonably fast

Can be slow upon waking ; Colour palette poor ; Jerky video performance

There’s no hiding our disappointment with the MeMo Pad 8. We expected better from a brand that’s proven itself in the tablet market. And with a price that matches that of the Google Nexus 7, it makes for a hard recommendation.

Asus seemed to have cornered the compact-tablet market in recent years: its Nexus 7 currently holds the top spot on the A-List, and the modestly priced Fonepad achieved the top spot before that. The Asus Memo Pad 8 marks the newest instalment in Asus'...

A perfectly competent Android tablet, but it isn't a patch on the Nexus 7

Beautiful - But....Outdated

After seeing this on Newegg I called and asked a couple of questions. Newegg gave me the number to Asus support so I called them. Asus support was nice and after putting me on hold a couple of times came back and told me 1. There is no difference...

Nice display ; Good enough performance ; Good Sound volume and pretty good quality

Stuck at Android 4.2 with no updates on the horizon as per Asus tech support

Nice size screen, when it works it is a nice tablet

I bought this tablet at christmas, I'm now sending it back for the second time for a black screen. It sounds like this is happening to others

Not Worth Buying

This would be a very nice tablet if it only worked...

Nice size, good performance, good sound quality, good storage/expandable storage

Granted this MAY be an isolated incident... however ; The screen has failed three times within 5 months ; each time i had to send i back to them for their "warrenty" which they do not pay for you to ship it to them... ive paid about $50 in "repairing"...
