Review Asus Memo Pad ME172V Tablet

Affordable brand name - continued. Acer successfully got the ball

Good workmanship; Generous memory capacity; Fast internal storage; Pleasant weight

Moderate choice of materials; No Bluetooth or GPS; Average battery life; Low-quality camera

The absolute contender is Acer's Iconia B1, with which Asus' Memo Pad almost pulls even. However, it also has to compete against Google's Nexus 7 and Prestigio's MultiPad 7.0 Prime Duo.

ASUS MeMo Pad 7 2014

The ASUS Memo Pad 7 Android tablet packs strong performance in a sleek design for an affordable $149.

Thin and light; Available in multiple colors; Sharp screen; Slick ZenUI; Strong overall performance

Back can run warm; Low-quality front camera

Asus MeMO Pad ME172V

The Asus MeMO Pad ME172V is a solid low-cost Android tablet for less demanding users, with reliable performance for lighter tasks like Web browsing and media consumption.

Affordable. Stable and responsive. Useful Android modifications. MicroSD card slot

Disappointing battery life. Narrow display viewing angle

As tablet makers race to the bottom, sacrifices have to be made to reach those bargain prices. Luckily for consumers, there are a number of budget friendly tablets that, while not hot rods, are perfectly suitable for activities like watching videos,...

Asus Memo Pad ME172V ( gray)

Regardless of the Asus Memo Pad ME172V's attractively low $149 price, you shouldn't buy it. Its performance is slow, it crashes when attempting to play some of the latest games, and the narrow viewing angle and low resolution of the screen make it look...

The Asus Memo Pad ME172V carries a low $149 price and its storage can be expanded through a built-in microSD slot.

The screen's low resolution produces only fuzzy text, and its painfully narrow viewing angle hides detail. Overall system performance is slow, and the tablet crashes when attempting to run some of the latest games. It also burns through battery life...

The Asus Memo Pad ME172V won't set you back a ton, but with much better choices only $50 away, you should simply pay more now and regret less later.

Asus MeMo Pad 7 review

There's been a surge in affordable phones and tablets of late, devices with fair feature sets in spite of their asking prices. The Asus MeMo Pad 7 is one such device; a 7-inch tablet that gives the likes of the Tesco Hudl a run for its money and is...

Gives Tesco Hudl a run for its money, microSD expansion, multiple colour options

Reflective screen, resolution and brightness less impressive than competitors

Asus Memo Pad 7

A Nexus 7 on the cheap with a powerful CPU

Simple but effective design ; New speedy Intel Bay Trail processor ; Runs a mostly standard version of Android

Screen resolution is too low ; Interface still a bit laggy despite fast processor ; Cameras are very basic

If you haven’t been spoilt by super high DPI displays yet, though, you may be very happy. You can even tailor the saturation and colour temperature of the Asus Memo Pad 7’s display to make it warmer or cooler to your preference.

Asus Memo Pad 7 review

So much so, in fact, that the £199 Nexus 7 is actually top of the PC Advisor tablet chart for 2014 right now, beating the likes of the £400 tablets such as the iPad Air and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. So how does the Asus Memo Pad 7 fare against this tough...

For just £120, we're really impressed with the Asus Memo Pad 7. In addition to a good-looking design and sturdy build, it also boasts hardware that rivals tablets with much higher price tags. A higher-resolution screen and front-facing speakers would...

Asus MeMO Pad 7 (2014) Review: In Depth

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 is a decent affordable 7-inch tablet, although it lacks the sharp visuals of its rivals. Read our review »

Colourful design ; Expandable memory ; Nicely tweaked Android interface

Rivals sport better screens ; Iffy camera results

The MeMO Pad 7 is a dependable 7-inch tab that performs well and does everything you'd expect, with a slick updated Android KitKat interface. It's a shame the screen wasn't more eye-catching, or we'd have little trouble recommending it. If you're a...

I expected more from asus

Well over 90 day warranty. So I have a tablet with unusable Micro SD Port.. Can't load a movie on it for traveling.

Does almost everything I expected

Micro SD Card does not work. I hate it when something is suppose to work and don't ; Battery life leaves a lot to be desired
