Asus VivoTab Smart Review

You'll be able to do more with this than with an iPad – even taking the scarcity of Windows 8-specific apps into account – but you won't be able to do it more speedily and without some frustrations with the interface.

Compared to the competition, the Asus VivoTab Smart, at $500, is on the inexpensive side for Windows 8 tablets. That’s a very un-netbook-like price, though. And if you’re going to use the tablet for real work, you’ll need to shell out another $100 for...

Asus blue my mind with this stylish router

The Asus Blue Cave smart router is the whole package with style, speed, security and all the customization options you could want, including Amazon Alexa support.

Asus' Blue Cave offers top speeds at an affordable price. The menu gives you access to almost every setting imaginable. Free security from Trend Micro provides added peace of mind. Alexa and IFTTT are supported.

Network storage transfer speeds were slow. Constantly explaining to friends that it’s actually a router might be annoying.

It's a cool looking router with a big, blue-rimmed hole in the middle. It has lots of speed, features and security for an affordable price. The menu and app give you as much control over your network as you want.

Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 review:

Asus, known for its creative designs and outre hardware (such as the recent Taichi dual-screen laptop), has its own unique take on the Atom-powered Windows 8 tablet. The VivoTab Smart ME400 -- if you can decypher Asus' naming conventions, more power to...

The Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 is as inexpensive as Atom Windows 8 tablets get, and the add-on keyboard/touch-pad combo is excellent.

The keyboard doesn't actually attach, which can be a hassle, and the folding magnetic cover takes practice to set up properly.

In a sea of hard-to-distinguish Atom-powered Windows 8 tablets, the Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 stands out a bit thanks to clever accessories.

Asus VivoTab Smart Review

Until recently, when you thought about looking for a tablet, it was pretty much a decision between iPad and Android. Now with Windows 8 and Windows RT, we've seen a number of new tablets on the market over the past couple of months. Another option is...

Full Windows 8 experience ; Lightweight and portable ; Good battery life

Atom processor and 2GB of RAM holds performance back ; Only 25GB of free internal storage

With the Asus VivoTab Smart currently priced at $499, it’s a compelling option for those looking for a moderately-sized tablet running the full Windows 8 platform without breaking the bank. But when adding on the $150 TranSleeve Keyboard option, you’re...

“Retro” Review: ASUS VivoTab Smart

Upgrades to Windows 8 tablets, such as the ASUS Transformer T100 (SRP P24,000), now use the Intel Atom Bay Trail processor. The boost in speed, improved graphics, and drop in power consumption that Bay Trail provides renders previous tablets, those...

But if the ASUS VivoTab Smart dips in price and if you know you’ll only be doing light office and school work, why not?

Asus VivoTab Smart Tablet

The Asus VivoTab Smart's wireless keyboard doubles as a cover for this Windows 8 tablet. Unlike convertible models, it doesn't boost the device's battery life, however, and our consumer testers weren't such fans of the keyboard's layout either. The...

Asus VivoTab Smart ME400 review

The Windows 8 tablet to beat?

Excellent general specs ; 8MP camera ; full Windows 8

Processor slow ; Ports problematic ; Could be brighter

Windows 8 tablets haven't exactly set the world alight so far. Indeed things have been positively low key. Firstly there was uncertainty – many Microsoft partners had prepped their own devices when suddenly, last summer, Microsoft said it would be...

Asus VivoTab Smart

The Asus VivoTab Smart is certainly an interesting idea. Boiled down to basics, it's a Windows 8 tablet compressed into the sort of design you'd expect for a Windows RT tablet. That means it's small and light, and will be the ideal device for you to...

Full Windows experience, compact and light, well-built, upgradable storage via microSD

Can be sluggish, not enough RAM, Windows 8 is confusing here and RT would have been simpler

There's so much to consider here that it's almost enough to make your head melt.

Asus adds VivoTab Smart tablet to Windows 8 lineup

The 10-inch tablet isn't the flashiest Asus Windows 8 tablet but only time will tell if it's the smartest.
