Creative ZiiO 7-Inch: Not Really a 'Tablet'

When it comes to multimedia products Creative is one of the oldest companies that have been churning out competitive products starting off with PC peripherals like speakers and then branching out into components, media players and now tablets. In order...

Creative’s first attempt at a tablet is a major let down. And to top it off they have priced it at a crazy Rs.17,999. If it was priced somewhere around 10K, it would make a decent buy considering it plays full HD movies, WiFi and runs Android. If you...

The biggest rival in the 7" division is Samsung's Galaxy Tab. In addition to the tablet functions, you can even make telephone calls and write SMSs with it. However, it moves in a price range of Apple's iPad. The Archos 101 Tablet is rather more in the...

Creative ZiiO 7" Entertainment Tablet

Also, about that screen: It's an 800-by-480 LCD, and is resistive rather than capacitive. The screen makes images and video look dim, and it's more prone to glare than any tablet I've ever used. It actually makes using the ZiiO difficult at times....

Inexpensive. Good media apps. HDMI output to TV. Easy connection to wireless speakers

Hard-to-use, low-quality display. Runs a version of Android not optimized for tablets

The $250 Creative ZiiO 7" Entertainment Tablet is a designed for media lovers, and though the price is right, the execution isn't.

Creative Ziio 7”

The Creative Ziio 7" is one of the least expensive Android tablets we've tried but does that make it good value for money?

The Ziio 7” is hard to recommend despite its low price owing to a few critical issues that retard overall usability.

Creative ZiiO 7″ Tablet Review

A good first attempt for a tablet that sounds weaker than it is.

Excellent sound quality, HDMI output, Battery life

Resistive screen with low resolution and washed-up colors, No Arabic

Coming to the specs, the ZiiO is powered by the ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Applications Processor. This is basically an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU running at 1GHz. The ZiiO has with 512MB of RAM and comes in 8GB or 16GB of storage capacities. On the...

Creative Ziio 7-inch review

A budget Android tablet that more than justifies its own existence

Price is right ; X-Fi audio ; Easy to use

Poor screen ; It's not pretty ; No Android Market

It's a long way behind the iPad and the Galaxy Tab in terms of overall usability. But at just £199, the Creative Ziio does offer great value for money. If you've got £200 to spend, you won't find a better tablet than the Creative Ziio.

Creative ZiiO 7 review

We're at a junction in Android tablets, with last year's announcements coming to market, just we we're getting excited about the next influx of tablets. The Creative ZiiO 7 is a little late to the party, typical of the types of device we saw towards...

Affordable, great sound quality, wide video and audio format support, mini HDMI, microSD card slot

Resitive display, no Android Market, some bugs in the software

If you stick to the remit of a large screen media player, then the Creative ZiiO 7 is worth considering. However, the resistive display will always be a limiting factor, regardless of what updates (official or unofficial) find their way to the device

Creative Ziio 7

The Creative Ziio 7 is a highly portable tablet that runs the Android OS.

Good-looking design ; 1GHz processor ; Good video player

Terrible app store ; Washed-out screen

Unlike a top-end smartphone though, both the soft keys and main 7in touchscreen use resistive touchscreen technology. This type of touchscreen uses two screen layers, the top of which flexes onto the bottom under the pressure provided by your finger or...
