Review Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet

Update Craze. Samsung has been bringing "updated" devices to the market as often as possible. The new Galaxy Note 10.1 from 2012 is now succeeded by the "Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition". The hardware is the latest on the market but can it, and the...

Display resolution; Extreme performance; LTE module; Good battery life; Option to increase storage; Nice brightness; S-Pen

Price; Slightly high black value

The display resolution is huge and despite this the performance is sufficient to run all games and FHD material fluidly.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Review

When all is said and done, the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition brings everything that’s worked in previously released Samsung devices and bundled it together with extremely powerful hardware. If you want the latest and greatest 10.1-inch Android tablet,...

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 review: Flying first class

Lightweight, agile and simply affordable, seven-inchers did, at one point, seem capable of pushing ten-inch Android tablets out of business. Even Samsung, with its device-for-every-taste approach had to admit defeat. The Koreans all but threw in the...

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) review

As PC sales continue to shrink, the notion of a productivity-friendly tablet is becoming increasingly popular – at least among device makers. Microsoft's original Surface and Surface RT made a big splash, ultimately sank, but that hasn't stopped the...

Standout multi-tasking features ; Ultra-high-resolution display ; Top-notch specs ; S Pen is a better fit here than on the Note 3 ; Improved aesthetics over previous model

More expensive than the current-generation iPad ; Some performance glitches persist, despite high-end specs ; Abundance of features can be confusing

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is a solid Android productivity tablet, with improved S Pen implementation, screen, and specs. But its $550+ price and occasional performance glitches will steer many toward alternatives like the iPad or Surface 2.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)

This year's Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet picks up exactly where last year's model left off, making key upgrades to the display and internals while improving its core stylus and multitasking features, but it's still not perfect.

Excellent multitasking. Sharp, vibrant display. Pressure sensitive stylus with useful software integration. IR remote

Buggy at times. Expensive

The original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was one of our favorite tablets at the time of its release. Its built-in stylus, IR-emitter, and split screen multitasking made it a productivity powerhouse that other tablets just couldn't match. The 2014 Edition...

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 2014 Edition

Sleek elegant design; Very sharp and bright display; Improved multitasking functionality; Compelling pen enhancements

Expensive; Occasional lag; Mediocre camera; Shorter battery life than top tablets

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is certainly one of the top premium Android tablets. The gorgeous 2560 x 1600 display actually looks better than the iPad's screen. And the beefed up pen capability combined with Samsung's collection of...

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 review (2014 edition)

If you want your product to sound like it belongs in the future, why not name it after the future itself? Taking a page from the auto industry, Samsung

Beautiful high-res display ; Thinner, lighter and easier to handle ; Incredible audio performance ; S Pen functionality

Unusually sluggish performance ; Battery life isn't as long as expected

The 2014 Note 10.1 looks fantastic and has the best specs of any Android tablet out there, but we grew frustrated by its choppy performance.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)

Editors' note: This review currently reflects performance for the global model of the 2014 Note 10.1, with its 1.9GHz eight-core processor. It will be updated with results from the US quad-core version when that unit arrives.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) has Android 4.3, impressive processing muscle, two fully loaded cameras, and a light, portable build. Improved S Pen features boost the tablet's productivity potential.

The faux leather back cover looks chintzy, and handwriting recognition is still imperfect.

The improved S Pen goes a long way to making this high-end tablet worth the extra cost, but if you're not sold on the stylus, it's easy to find a better deal.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 review (2014 Edition)

When I was in high school, I fantasized about leaving my numerous spiral bound notebooks behind in favor of a handheld digital drawing board. That technology didn't arrive in the form of the iPad until after I finished college, but that didn't stop me...

Useful handwriting recognition ; Beautiful high-resolution display

Sluggish performance ; High price ; For a pen-enabled tablet, it's not geared toward pen users

The pen is back on the big screen

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Review

With the 2nd edition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, it's almost as if the company doesn't want to admit that they've got what's easily one of the finest Android tablets on the market. Buried in the announcements of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and...

Samsung sets the benchmark for fine quality and unique abilities with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, and with the Exynos 5 Octa processor under the hood, it’ll be ready to roll with the most powerful apps for many moons, as well.
