Samsung Series 7 Slate PC

Samsung has expanded its Series 7 line of products into tablet territory, calling its versions the Series 7 Slate 700T. Like the Asus EP121 , it includes an Intel Core i5 processor, making it a much more useful device than the underpowered Intel Atom...

Samsung's Series 7 Slate is a powerful touch-screen Windows 7 PC, with a very Windows-8-like optional interface.

Onscreen typing is finicky and headache-inducing. The sold-separately dock and keyboard are practically required.

The Samsung Series 7 Slate 700T is the fastest Windows 7 tablet we've tested, and paired with its optional accessories, it provides a very laptop-like experience, but one marred by the typical awkward onscreen Windows typing experience.

Samsung Series 7 Slate PC review - Liliputing

It’s likely that more tablet computers have hit the streets in the past two years than in the previous decade. But tablets have been around for years — they just didn’t always look like the iPad

Taking cues from Asus' Transformer series, Samsung offers its take on the hybrid laptop/tablet.

Samsung Series 7 Slate PC

Samsung's Windows slate doesn't live up to the performance promise.

Good design. Low weight for the size. Good battery life.

Heat issues hamper performance. Nowhere to store the stylus. Samsung overlay software is slow. System image rather than factory recovery isn't great.

We're quite torn on the Slate. On the one hand, as a casual product it will fulfil the user's need, and is quite nice to use. On the other hand, if someone wanted a casual tablet, they'd go iPad or Android, as the huge performance issues can't be...

Piece of junk.

Don't waste your money. Touch interface is twitchy, hard to be accurate. Screen surface is sticky, scrolling is very frustrating. Less than one month and the slate has failed due to normal flexing of the flimsy case from simply holding the tablet. Most...

Samsung has delivered a very functional business product.

Familiar Windows 7 platform provides immediate production with this versatile and powerful product. It has the mobility and feel of a tablet but the power to easily process every task I have put to it.

Samsung Series 7 Slate PC

Like most tablets, I'm skeptical on the practicality of this device. When I use it with a docking station it's a pretty neat little portable computer; however, without the docking station it's a little difficult to use. As another reviewer mentioned,...

Like the portability. Much easier to carry around versus a laptop. Battery life is good. Touch screen is very responsive. Only con is if you join to a domain. Have to use the ease of access feature to login. Would recommend if you don't like the ipad.

Interesting

The Series 7 is not a Galaxy product. In fact, it comes from an entirely different division within Samsung: not the mobile group, but the team responsible for the Series 9 and other laptops you might have seen lately.

Fantastic! Superior hardware

As an IT manager, I mainly issue Lenovo Thinkpad's for mobile devices, all "T", "W" and "X" series. As the need for a tablet has arisen, we tried the "X201T" with the swivel hinged monitor and stylus. It "served the purpose", although it was clunky.
