Toshiba Excite 7

The Toshiba Excite 7's poor screen and high price make it an uninspiring choice for an Android tablet.

Bezels make it easy to hold. Sturdy design. Nearly stock Android.

Low-resolution display. Poor battery life. More expensive than its more powerful competition.

Conclusion The Toshiba Excite 7 would make a decent $99 tablet, but competitors at its $169 price point beat it easily. It doesn't have 720p screen resolution like the Hisense Sero 7 Pro, nor does it match the graphical power of the $129 Nook HD or...

Toshiba Excite 7 review

Joining the ranks of its big brother, the Toshiba Excite 10 , and its even bigger brother, the Excite 13 , is the smallest addition to the Excite tablet family, the Toshiba Excite 7.7.

The Toshiba Excite 7.7 has a great AMOLED screen, a snappy quad-core processor, and ships natively with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

At $500 the Excite 7.7's sticker price is steep, the front camera is awkwardly placed, and there is no HDMI support.

If money isn't an issue, the Toshiba Excite 7.7 is a compact tablet with a beautiful display and impressive internal speeds.

Toshiba Excite 7 review

An inexpensive 7-inch tablet with a display and performance worthy of the price tag.

When it comes to inexpensive Android tablets, you'll be hard pressed to find something from a major manufacturer that gets too much cheaper than the Toshiba Excite 7. For your $169 you're getting a pretty solid piece of hardware that will undoubtedly...

Toshiba Excite 7 Tablet

The Toshiba Excite 7 runs on Android and is backed with a textured aluminum casing that not only looks good, but is durable too. Equipped with Bluetooth, the Excite 7 also has a USB port and a micro SD card slot, thought many tablets in our test had...

Toshiba Excite 7 tablet bores with basics

The 7-inch tablet suffers from a dull display, plastic-y build, and underwhelming performance.

The ; tablet is competitively priced and features a microSD card expansion slot.

Its plastic-y body feels cheap and performance slows significantly if multiple apps are open. The low resolution screen looks pixelated and dull compared to other similarly priced tablets, and it's sometimes unresponsive.

Though low-priced, the fails to offer as much value as other budget tablets.

The best 7" yet

I'm not sure what's wrong with cnet these days, but they missed this one. This was a spendy tablet, but you can pick a new one up for 300 now, and it easily beats the nexus 7 in almost every area. My only gripes are the camera and the proprietary...

"Best tablet I've used to date!"

Sitting next to the Asus transformer, this is smaller and even thinner. I also came from a v-tab that couldn't surf the internet to this awesome unit. It has now replaced my laptop, GPS, and car stereo (once paired with a datajack). After Christmas the...

Headphone jack works with C.C. reader apps, has a rear camera, stereo speakers, expandable memory card slot, gorilla glass, and its super thin design with super fast processor makes it the best with the most on the market.

Awful and huge odd sized charging cable. I've tried charging through the micro-usb unsuccessfully. I have to buy another Toshiba plug for in the vehicle because all my others are useless.
