Toshiba Portege Z10t review: Good build and decent performance but at what cost?

The one constant complaint against a tablet is that it cannot be used to do productive tasks and that, it is mainly a media consumption device. Laptop makers have come up with the 2-in-1 category, to counter that. Post the Windows 8 release, we have...

Toshiba Portege Z10t is a 2-in-1 clearly targeting the business user who wants to have a work machine which also works as a tablet. The 11.6-inch screen size is definitely smaller for those whose main work involves working with spreadsheets, but for...

Toshiba Portege Z10t Review

Toshiba's Portege Z10t is a powerful 2-in-1 Ultrabook convertible, but the dim display and uncomfortable keyboard hold it back.

Strong Core i7 performance and fast SSD; Built-in stylus

Dim display; Uncomfortable keyboard; Poor audio quality

It's the right size and weight and it's built for business.

Active digitizer, with pen ; Strong benchmark performance ; Lightweight

Display half is thick for a tablet ; Resolution is only 1920x1080

If you really want a notebook/tablet hybrid with a detachable screen, Toshiba's Portege Z10t is the best execution of that idea, at least for now.

Toshiba’s 4G packing Portege Z10t reviewed

Toshiba has been making some of the better computers in the industry since the brand practically kickstarted notebook computing back in the eighties, but here in the Portege Z10t, the effort isn't as strong.

Comes packing 4G connectivity, Tablet section is responsive and easy to type on, Keyboard dock included, Dock features two mice: blue Accupoint and trackpad, Excellent screen

Keyboard is too shallow, Dock hinge has only one useable position, and it won't be suitable for all environments, No battery in the dock

Review: Toshiba Portege Z10t

Ok, we'll put our hands up here and cough to the fact that we are fan boys of Toshiba gear. Our tried and trusted Satellite laptop circa 2006 is still going strong, although rarely used due to it being a leviathan compared to contemporary offerings....

Great specs; good functionality; great business tool

A little chunky; most ports in keyboard
