Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet

When it comes to budget-priced Android tablets, there's a lot of junk out there. The Cruz T301 from Velocity Micro is a rare exception. It's not a great product, but with a street price as low as $160, its core Android features and sturdy hardware make...

The Velocity Micro Cruz T301 delivers Android 2.2 on a 7-inch screen for an affordable price

We're not fond of the dim, low-res screen and bulky design. Also, core Google Mobile apps aren't included, including Android Market

The Velocity Micro Cruz T301 Android tablet is a decent, low-priced option for general Web and e-mail tasks, but its bulky size and mediocre screen quality make it a poor choice for e-books, multimedia, and games.

Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet Reviewed, Not Worth It

Cruz Velocity has a couple of Android tablets out at the moment, both 7-inch. The Cruz Reader is e-book reader focused and has a 4:3 ratio display while the Cruz Tablet is a general purpose tablet with the typical 16:9 ratio display. Both tablets went...

"Stay Away!"

Don't waste your money..got one of these, lasted 3 months, screen no longer responds, tried all the tricks on their website.

Worked well for a few months.

Breaks, after a few months and they don't seem to be willing or able to come up with a fix. Their website acknowledges the problem with the firmware, but have been waiting for 3 months and no updates!

"Color Kindle with some options."

I'm very unhappy I can't get any flash material to run on this tablet. I'm tempted to rename it the iPad mini. :-( This has to be my biggest grip for it. It apparently won't run TeamViewer (Android) and some similar programs either. I'm still working...

Low price (I need to say that again, low price less than $100 even new.) It has a very responsive screen. There are quite a few apps that run on it. It has a really solid build. Easy hook up to wi-fi and the Internet. It now has Android Froyo.

There are quite a few apps that don't run on it! It's mips processor rejects Adobe Flash! Rather low speaker volume in spite of having two of them. Really you should use the included charger to charge it, since it will take a long time otherwise.

"Horrible! Do not buy!"

DO NOT BUY, A huge waste of money

None. I don't think there are any pros to this expansive peice of crap. It costs way to much to not even work.

Using this tablet I would try to go online and everytime the table would shut down the internet and give me a force close message. After one day of trying to get a few games off of the amazon market it began to give me a force close with ever app!

"Everyrhing and anything you buy has pros and cons."

Overall, I like the tablet. My wife also found it on Black Friday online for $100.00 so all you cost conscious consumer out there don't pay more than $130 or $140 for it. What I am using it for, it works just fine. E-mail, Web Surfing, and E-Reader.

Light, relatively responsive. Surfs the web with ease, wonderful resolution. The updated kindle app is easy and simple to use, have had no problems with it. I love reading newspapers and periodicals on it. And my emails are easy to read.

The biggest drawback I have found is that I have been unable to associate it with my google account thus not allowing me to download and install droid apps from the Android App Store. If you can find a solution for this tell me.

"Check This Out"

If you are looking for a cost efficient venture into the world of tablets this is a good beginner. Some of the reviews I have seen here and on other sites reflect that either the device is defective or the individual is not following instruction (in...

Expanded memory through 16 gb micro sd in adapter and it is much faster. It can be expanded up to 32 gb.

No Flash even with Cruz recommended Skyfire app.

"Agree OK for the money ($69 on sale)"

I agree for the money, this is OK. I wasn't expecting a full-strength tablet. You will need a Micro card to download lthe firmware. The Ram is 256 (a bummer!) and it isn't like a netbook where you can swap Ram chips and upgrade.

Lightweight, visual

The on/off button. Smudges on the screen. Needs firmware to upgrade. Wi-fi works "most" of the time. No camera. A poor man's Ipad.
