ViewSonic G Tablet

The ViewSonic G Tablet carves out a unique niche among Android tablets, breaking away from the smartphone to become a type of domestic dashboard. Unfortunately, many key benefits of the Android OS are lost along the way.

The ViewSonic G Tablet is one of only a handful of Android-based devices offering a 10-inch screen at an iPad-besting price tag

Adapting the smartphone OS to such a large screen requires many custom interface tweaks that fall short. The lack of official Google mobile services and Android Market limits potential. Many third-party apps don't work as expected

Viewsonic G Tablet Review

The Viewsonic G Tablet has a few things going for it. We like the long battery life, access to popular apps through Handango, and relatively low price. However, it's hard to recommend this slate because of its uninspired design and downright annoying...

Unique interface, Good split touch keyboard, Very long battery life, Strong media playback, Good selection of apps through Handango

Sluggish performance, No Android Market access or Flash support, Google's apps not included, Downloading apps take too many steps, Can't customize home screens, Bulky, unattractive design

ViewSonic gTablet

ViewSonic gTablet is 10.1-inch tablet with 1024x600 pixels display. In addition, it also rocks a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, 16GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and a memory card slot.

Verizon 4G LTE network is incredibly fast, 32GB microSD card included, Integrated kickstand works in portrait and landscape

Battery life is among the worst weve ever seen, No 4G LTE power toggle option, Kickstand in landscape orientation blocks microUSB port

Review: Viewsonic G Tablet

Viewsonic is branching out into new markets and their most recent product is the 10″ G Tablet. With a bright 1024 x 600 display, a front-facing webcam, and a powerful dual-core Tegra 2 CPU it seems to have good hardware. It also has a custom Tap n Tap...

So I really have mixed feelings about this tablet. As it stands I think there are more negatives than positives, but there is always the prospect of rooting the G Tablet and loading on a custom ROM, however that is beyond the scope of this review. So...

ViewSonic gTablet Review, Begging To Be Rooted

So, why haven't we seen more 10-inch or larger Android tablets to compete with the iPad? That's a question we've been asking and we're sure many of you have the been wondering about the situation as well. The primary reason is that Google's...

Great performance with NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip ; Thin, light and sleek ; Reasonably priced ; Lots of expansion ports ; Regular firmware updates from ViewSonic ; Great battery life

Poor LCD viewing angles ; No Android Market ; Tap 'n Tap UI gets in the way

gTablet Performance Take-Aways: The ViewSonic gTablet delivered a solid user experience, in terms of responsiveness and performance. In our benchmarks, the device posted strong scores across all tests we threw at it. It was the fastest tablet we've...

"2012 this is outdated big time. NO NETFLIX NO MARKET"

Super dissapointment, only good if you buy brand new and know what you are doing or want to spend obout 24hrs learning how to ROOT an android, back it up, flash the drive, and expect crashes, dont buy it. I returned mine and purchased another brand...

BIG SCREEN GOOD QUALITY, not nearly as fast as my Galaxy but not slow either. You Tube works, and its just like the old android phones.

Heavy, thick, OLD Operating System, this android is like the second one they ever made, super old and upgradding OS was not possible on the referbished models i purchased. NO NETFLIX, no gmail, no MARKET no GOOGLE PLAY yikes and you cant add them.

GOOD tablet,but low memory...

STOCK OS SUCKS...RUNS AS GOOD AS OTHER TABLETS WHEN ROOTED AND FLASHED WITH CUSTOM ROM.

BEST TABLET FOR THE PRICE TAG. NVIDIA TEGRA2 DOES A GOOD JOB,CAN BE OVERCLOCKED TO 1.5 MHZ WITH CUSTOM ROMS

NO SUPPORT FROM VIEWSONIC. NVIDIA HAS SAID IT WONT BE PROVIDING DRIVERS FOR GINGERBREAD OR HONEYCOMB UNLESS VIEWSONIC ASKS THEM TO AND VIEWSONIC SAYS ITS NVIDIA WHO SHOULD RELEASE THE DRIVER.SO IN SHORT,NO AFTER SALE SUPPORT FOR THIS DEVICE

A good tablet for the price,be sure to change the ROM!

This is a good tablet for the price, it came out last year and still somewhat up to date compared to today's tablets. Good battery life, nice Tegra chip and very customizable granted you are familiar with Android and ROMS. But it's very difficult to bric

Poor screen, I have had trouble with the power port on this tablet, something has came loose so if I don't have the power cord in the right angle it wont charge ; The original ROM is very poor, when I first bought this I had to change it within a week bec
