The second tier is too far away from the base so there was not enough heat to make the yogurt.

I only used the top tier once since purchasing. Jars in the top tier did not seem to thicken. Next time, I think it will need a longer period of time or possibly removing lower jars after appropriate time and move upper tier down for additional time.

I am completely happy with this yogurt maker. It is so simple to get perfect results. The yogurt is made, stored and servied in the same container. I wish I had gotten it sooner.

I have had this item for several months now, and it works like a charm. It allows for another 7 jars which gives me 14 total so I can do a varity of flavors now. It is worth the extra money.

I used a hacksaw and sawed out the inner plastic where you would place the extra jars and now can make huge batches of yogurt in quart sized canning jars. Great timesaver, since we go through 3-4 quarts of yogurt a week.
