Panasonic TX-P37X20 review

Affordable HD ready plasma with excellent all-round performance

Smooth, detailed images ; Very good motion picture resolution ; Great range of convenience features ; Radio Mode

No Freeview HD tuner ; Not full HD ; No network connectivity ; No USB port for media playback

Panasonic's enviable reputation is based on a combination of rip-snorting high-end screens and solidly respectable everyday sets.

Panasonic Viera TX-P37X20B 37in Plasma TV

The TX-P37X20B is a tempting option for a reasonably serious, HD-loving, but cash-strapped AV fan.

Panasonic TX-P37X20 review

Probably the only 37in plasma still in production, this Panasonic is a perfectly pleasant set but you can get better features for not much more

Cheap ; great build ; good standard-def pictures ; surprisingly excellent contrast

A warm picture, particularly in HD ; motion issues ; no Freeview HD or internet

It’s a perfectly pleasant TV set, but just £15 more buys better performance and tons of extra features

Panasonic TXP42X20

Not overwhelmingly inspiring, but just about the best performance you can get for the price ..

Value, black level ability, colour

SD pictures a little disappointing

We hoped for a little bit more from the TX-P42X20. This should not detract from the fact that this is a very good screen and an excellent one for the price. To a greater or lesser degree it is an improvement on the outgoing X10 in every respect; it is...

Panasonic TX-P37X20B

Very easy to set up-about 10 minutes from the box to seeing the first programme!

Not so many freeview channels as my old TV (off the same aeriel) ,can't get Dave and Quest and a couple of other less important channels.

Panasonic TX-P37X20B

The picture. What else would you buy a telly for! The picture is simply fantastic.

No VGA input but not important to me, and I knew beforehand but it is important to a lot of people. Sound is compromised if you build the TV into a wall rather than simply mounted on it. Not many folk build them in but I did so it is flush with the...

Panasonic TX-P37X20B

Fantastic value for money, great picture even on standard defintition broadcasts. Very good sound considering it's not a top of the range model.

Could do with a USB port, but that's it

Panasonic TX-P50X20

The TV was up and running within seconds of connecting it to the mains. The TV itself is slim and unintrusive. The sound and the picture quality are both excellent and more than suit my needs.

Since purchasing the TV over a month ago I am yet to find something bad about it.
