Vizio VF550XVT

Although better-performing 52-inch models are available for less money, the 55-inch Vizio VF550XVT will appeal to less-critical viewers who want a bigger screen.

Relatively inexpensive; accurate color; plenty of picture setup adjustments; highly tweakable dejudder processing; superb connectivity with five HDMI and one PC input

Lighter black levels; dejudder processing prone to artifacts; below-average off-angle performance

Vizio SV470XVT1A LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The Vizio SV470XVT1A seems like an unbelievable deal for a 47-inch TV at only $1399 (MSRP), and less than that in stores. It's certainly not the best TV that's passed through our labs, but it holds up nicely to the competition with more than adequate...

The Vizio SV470XVT1A is a great value, considering the low price and the big, 47-inch screen. It's strategies like that that have made Vizio one of the biggest players in North American television sales. Before you leap, however, you should know what...

Vizio SV370XVT LCD HDTV First Impressions Review - Intro

The SV370XVT is the 37-inch option in Vizio's new line-up. Although this LCD looks to be an entry level set, it has some impressive specs: 1080p, 120Hz, and multimedia playback via its USB port. The unit is still in its preproduction phases, which...

The Vizio SV320XVT looks to be an entry-level model with a few specs and features we don't typically see in an entry-level set. From a spec sheet, this is an impressive 37-inch TV: its capable of 1080p, has a 120Hz refresh rate and comes equipped with...

VF550XVT

The Vizio VF550XVT isn't much of a bargain, despite the reasonable $1800 price tag (as of April 16, 2009). Assorted problems with image quality, weak sound, and clumsy menus, along with a lack of interesting features, make this set difficult to recommend.

Remote well backlit Has picture-in-picture

Configuration menus are confusing Unimpressive sound

In my experience, Vizio TVs usually deliver very good pictures at a reasonable price, but I was quite disappointed by the VF550XVT's performance. Let's hope it proves to be an aberration

Vizio VF550XVT HDTV Review

Remote well backlit ; Has picture-in-picture

Configuration menus are confusing ; Unimpressive sound

The Vizio VF550XVT carries a reasonable price, but its image, sound, and extra features don't add up to a very good HDTV.

Vizio VF550XVT

Vizio has mastered the art of the value HDTV. Its latest bargain: the $1,999.99 (list) 55-inch VF550XVT with full HD resolution, excellent energy efficiency, plenty of input options, and useful extras like a backlit remote and HDMI cable. But for some,...

Low price. Energy efficient. Produces detailed HD video. HDMI cable included

Diminished picture quality with some SD sources. Picture calibration recommended. Unique design might not appeal to all tastes

Vizio's VF550XVT is an undeniable value for a 55-inch 1080p LCD television, but it requires some tweaking to achieve its full picture potential.

Vizio VF550XVT LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The Vizio VF550XVT is Vizio's largest LCD HDTV at 55-inches. It's also part of their high-end XVT lineup of televisions, featuring 120Hz refresh rate, which should improve motion performance. When we looked at one of Vizio's other XVT lineup of...

The VF550XVT sits at the top of Vizio's lineup. It's their biggest LCD television at 55-inches and sports high-end features like 120Hz refresh rate. It's also amongst the most expensive of Vizio's HDTVs, with prices ranging from $1800 to $2200...

SV470XVT

The Vizio SV470XVT produces good (albeit at times dark) images, but it lacks some of the design conveniences of certain other HDTVs in its category, such as the Samsung LN46A650, the Samsung LN46A550, and the Panasonic TH-46PZ800U.

Excellent sound Low price

Remote has too many small buttons Poorly situated connectors

The SV470XVT comes with picture-in-picture and freeze-frame features, but no multimedia capabilities. The absence of a USB port or SD Card slot means that you can't look at your photos or listen to your music through the TV. Still, this 47-inch HDTV...

Vizio SV420XVT

LCD HDTVs that feature fast, 120-Hz frame-refresh technology produce a picture with improved clarity and detail when compared with standard 60Hz LCDs, which update the screen half as often. The 42-inch Vizio SV420XVT ($1,399.99 list) is one of the most...

Affordable price for cutting-edge technology. Very good picture quality once calibrated. Four HDMI ports. Bundled HDMI cable

Out-of-box color is slightly off and requires manual calibration. Occasional visual artifacts from 120-Hz technology

Despite some occasional visual quirks, the Vizio SV420XVT delivers high-performance LCD technology at an amazing price.
