HDTV LCD TVs for Less

When it comes to HDTVs, usually bigger is better. But sometimes you want a smaller unit, for a bedroom, home office, or small living space, for example. Enter the Dell W2600 26-inch LCD HDTV. With its compact size and relatively low price for a...

Solid overall image quality. Good connection options. Small size lets it fit into tight spaces. Competitively priced.

Standard-definition 4:3 content looks small on screen. Lacks individual input buttons on the remote.

The W2600 would make a fine second HDTV for a bedroom, and it could also serve as a primary TV in a smaller living space. It works well in a brightly lit room, and its $1,349 price won't break the bank.

Dell W2600 review: Dell W2600

Dell W2600

Slick look; 2:3 pull-down video processing; excellent connectivity, including DVI.

Subpar black-level performance; noticeable red push.

A good choice for casual viewing, this versatile flat-panel LCD is a strong value.

Dell W2300 23 HDTV

Like the girl or boy next door, the Dell W2300 is a safe bet. It doesn't have the prom-queen or prom-king dazzle of some other TVs we reviewed, nor does it have their mercurial temperaments. It performed respectably and consistently in all of our...

The one truly disappointing feature of the Dell is its small, pewter-colored remote control, which produced the weakest signal we encountered. Commands often failed to register even when we stood two feet away from the TV and aimed straight at the...

Dell W1700 LCD TV

Dell has embraced the consumer electronics market with the release of several new products recently, including the W1700. Although its price ($699 direct) is in line with that of units in this group, Dell did not cut any corners.

Dell W1700 review: Dell W1700

Gunning for the electronics market this holiday season, Dell has rolled out an LCD TV with a rock-bottom price and a healthy feature set. The W1700 offers true 1,280x720 HDTV resolution, a built-in TV tuner, and enough inputs to satisfy even the most...

Relatively inexpensive; 1,280x720 resolution; wide-screen aspect ratio; 3:2 pull-down video processing; numerous inputs; sleek design; stand included.

Inaccurate grayscale and color decoding; murky shadow detail; limited PIP options.

This versatile LCD compromises both computer and TV sources, but an attractive price makes its mediocre picture easier to bear.

Dell W1900 LCD HDTV

Introduction When most people think of Dell, they picture the dorky blond guy, Stephen, pitching $399 computers on TV with his catchphrase, "Dude, you're getting a Dell!" Since the media phenomenon, Stephen has been busted for possession of pot and...

Dell W2600 - 26in LCD TV

About a year ago Dell surprised us by producing a first rate LCD TV. Now it's gone one better and produced the best LCD TV we've ever seen.

Not only is the W2600 the best LCD TV I've ever used, but at £998 it's an incredible bargain. If you're thinking about getting a media PC, or just want an LCD TV with a dizzying array of connection options, the Dell W2600 should be top of your list.
