Finlux 40F8073-T review

Average images, but you won't find a better value bigscreen smart TV

Low price ; Netflix and BBC iPlayer ; Freeview HD ; Fast user interface

Motion blur ; Limited shadow detail ; Poor remote control ; Weak speakers

The 40F8073-T is truly excellent value. A decent TV with any kind of apps usually costs around £500, with exceptions to that rule – such as Toshiba's heavily discounted 2013 range – regularly disappointing with a total lack of usability and processing...

Finlux 40F8073-T

An ultra-cheap 40-inch TV that really isn't bad at all.

Remarkable value, Surprisingly decent pictures for the money, Smart TV includes Netflix and iPlayer

Noise over fine detailing, Flimsy audio, Overstressed presentation of contrasty edges

Finlux 40F8073-T review

Despite having a price that's between £50 and £100 cheaper than similar models from Samsung and LG, the Finlux 40F8073-T manages to put in a strong picture performance and also has a stylish design. It's a good budget buy.

Low price ; Good black levels and colours ; Decent upscaling of standard-definition pictures

Lacks detail in darker scenes ; Smart TV system is quite basic

Finlux 40F8073-T

I paid £290 for my 40F8073- T and so I got a lot of TV for the money but I wonder if I should have added another £200 and bought a Sony KDL 42W 653A as I sometimes find the contrast range a bit limiting. If I set it so that the picture looks punchy...

Decent full HD pictures

Contrast could be better. Poor SD pictures
