Goodmans LD2661HDFVT review

Another groundbreakingly cheap TV from Goodmans

Better than expected standard-def pictures ; Ridiculously cheap

Uninspiring build quality ; Colours and black levels aren't great ; Poor audio

Superbly affordable, but perhaps one or two too many compromises have to be made

Goodmans LD2661HDFVT 26in LCD TV

A 26in HD Ready LCD TV for £350 - an amazing bargain or does something have to give?

The really important question, of course, is what level of picture quality we can expect for this price. And the answer is…pretty darned low, sadly.

Goodmans LD2661HDFVT

It's certainly rather cheap to look at, with its imagination-free rectangular shape and lightweight finish. Plus it loses out to all of its rivals today by only sporting a single HDMI socket. But then with the best will in the world, we guess anyone...

Amazingly cheap, fair performer considering its price

Only one HDMI, black levels could be better, motion smearing

Goodmans LD2661HDFVT

With most TVs in the 26-inch class costing £600 - only marginally less than some decent 32-inch options - we really had started to think that maybe the 26-inch price level had bottomed out. And then along comes Goodmans with the LD2661HDFVT

Better than expected standard-def pictures, Ridiculously cheap

Uninspiring build quality, Colours and black levels aren't great, Poor audio

Superbly affordable, but perhaps one or two too many compromises have to be made
