Haier HLT71

The Haier HLT71 is an extremely versatile little TV for all those places that viewing would be desirable but awkward with a full size set. Its triple power options add tremendously to the convenience of the unit. Pricing is a bargain for the...

The 7-inch LCD display enhances viewing experience

This portable TV lacks A/V connections

If convenience is a feature you most desire, this portable TV is for you.

Excellent TV - Exceeded My Expectations!

I was pleasantly surprised that I received a television of such high quality when I paid 62% off the list price. I have owned dozens of TV's through the years (Sony, JVC, Panasonic, RCA, Zenith, Quasar, Proton, Koss, Casio) and this Haier ranks among...

Image quality is impressive ; 7" screen the detail is sharp ; Color is deep and illumination is vivid ; The stereo sound is good and loud ; Solidly built

Included antenna is minimal, and probably not enough to get all the channels in some areas

Crystal clear picture.

I've had this for about a year now and I Love it! Especially during power outages.

The picture is crystal clear. A good reception is necessary. Or if you have a cable connection even better. I've had this for about a year now and I Love it! Especially during power outages

There is nothing I don't like about this TV

Decent, cheap, digital, 12v TV

If you buy it for under a $100 and the audio/video works and you are in a major metro area where there are strong broadcast digital signals it is a good portable 12v TV

Guess it is luck whether you get a good one. I also live in Seattle and I get ABC-NBC-CBS-PBS-FOX and a couple of indpendent broadcast so I have no complaints after 6 months of use (power outages mainly when it runs for hours waiting for news)

Battery life is not as long as Haier would like you to believe so we run it from a generator w. filtered 12 v/120v

Worthless!

This TV is absolutely worthless. I tried it in the Seattle area and again in the Phoenix area. Didn't work in either areas. The only channels that came in clear were a couple church and spanish channels.

The concept is good but it just doesn't receive any channels

Not one regular channel would come in clear. If it did at all, it was choppy and the sound cut out with a loud buzz

Power on problem as soon as 90 day warranty ended.

I used this in an office building with a digital antenna near a window. When it worked, it was excellent but as soon as I started having problems there was virtually no customer support. I only used it for 45-60 minutes Mon. through Friday so for it...

Unit worked very well when connected to a quality digital antennae. Very easy to use, scan, etc

Called customer service. They told me since it is out of warranty to take it to an electrical shop for repairs. I called several and they tell me they cannot get parts if it needs any. I certainly does! Wasted $105. Won't buy Haier anymore

Consumer review by:

Poor audio quality made it useless.

Good price. Easy to set up. Good picture. Fairly good reception

The audio was very bad and there are no adjustments. The sound was similar to that of an old transistor radio and was quite irritating. If I wasn't sitting close and focused in on the program, I was unable to follow the conversation

Seems to work as expected

I was intrigued with the concept of this TV, since my older analog handheld is 95% useless now. The Haier "71" promises a crisp clear picture with fairly good sound for a small unit, and the controls (via the remote) are easy to navigate. What I...

Great picture. Good ease of handling. Relatively intuative controls. Remote

Antenna unscrews if turned counter-clockwise. Antenna gets LOWSY reception. Tuner seems to lack sensitivity. Local stations "spotty" even with external antenna connected. Once stations are programmed, unit won't allow pickup of un-programmed channel

Consumer review by:

Nice piece of hardware but hardly useable

We live about 40 miles outside a major mid-western city with access to 9 different DTV stations. The best I could do with the Haier was maybe two of the stations and this depended on whether or not it was in the backyard or on the 2nd floor of our...

Nicely constructed. Easy to setup and operate. Very nice picture. Very portable

Highly directional. Moving inches from one side to another or from one floor to another has a major impact on reception. Not like an analog signal. You either get reception or you don't

Consumer review by:

but ours lasted only one week before it died...

Dislike it only lasted ONE week.

Good picture,compact in size

It only lasted one week. Power supply issues. Adapter okay. The connector which mates to the adapter. Failed, the conn. acts as a DC switch. It disconnected itself from the tv
