LG CS560 series review: Relatively cheap LCD TV has poor image quality

 

The LG CS560 series offers decent color accuracy and saturation. The TV has a matte screen and bright-room performance is better than the LG LS4600's at half the price.

The TV has terrible black levels and off-axis viewing. The TV suffers from poor uniformity, with large backlight blobs afflicting the upper half of the screen.

The LG CS560 series is a relatively cheap LCD TV, but its poor image quality means that it cannot compete against other budget TVs.

These days, you don't have to spent a lot of money for an HDTV. Budget screens are becoming less and less expensive, and you can pick up a solid 42-inch set for under $700 with relative ease. At that price, you'll have to makes some compromises,...

Inexpensive. Accurate colors. Very bright

Dismal black levels. Only two HDMI ports

You'll make some compromises, but LG's CS560 series of CCFL-backlt LCD HDTVs offer solid overall picture quality with excellent colors at very reasonable prices.

Inexpensive. Accurate colors. Very bright.

"42-Inch LG 42CS560"

 

I picked this TV set up about two months ago and so far have been beyond pleased with it. It's used every day, for basic cable (through a coaxial cable), streaming movies through a Roku with Netflix and for playing Play Station 3 video games....

- TV looks stunning and video games look dynamic

- 60Hz refresh rate

Poor refresh

 

Price. Picture quality of non-moving video

Poor play back of action. Looks like I have bad reception or something when action is played back. Definitely not the case though, same problem with all inputs. Refresh rate is VERY bad on this thing. Perfect if you want to watch 60 minutes, really bad...

Nice picture at a good price but I can't speak to all the features. I've only got one HDMI going into it and am using it just as a monitor. Switching and volume is handled by the receiver

LG 37" TV

 

Newegg needs to improve the packing for LCD TVs....Please include outer packing on ALL TVs! So far on the TVs (which was 3) I ordered on Newegg...only one of them came in perfect condition....Batting .333 is not good when we are talking 100's of dollars!

TV arrived with a little dent in the box....There is some part from the TV rattling around in the back end of the TV....at least that does not affect the picture, but it may be a reason why I cant program my u-verse box to work with the TV

OK but slight imperfection

 

Nice looking TV. Didn't notice until after it was mounted but there is an imperfection where the screen meets the bevel. LG should have seen this in quality control.
