LG 50PZ550

Of the plasma screens released by LG this year, the 50PZ550 ($1099 MSRP) falls in the middle of the value range, just behind the xxPZ750 and the xxPZ950 series. The feature set is not too different between the series, you will still have access to...

Good motion processing ; A wide viewing angle

Awful color performance ; A low peak brightness, and a high black level for a plasma screen

LG did not release a good set of plasma televisions this year. We really expected to see a line of televisions that could compete with the best because of the sterling color performance of their LCD displays. However, none of these plasmas were going...

Great TV with deep black.

Overall great 3D TV for under 1K. Slick design with ultra slim framing. The 600Hz refresh rate virtually eliminates motion blur.

Great black coloring, good sound setup can choose Clear Voice mode. USB and DLNA availability plus NetCast (Netflix, CinemaNow, YouTube, VUDU, MLB.TV, Picasa) defenetly will keep you entertained. Slick design with Ultra Slim frame

Have glare in the bright room, reflects light and can see own reflection. Not so impressive 2D -> 3D conversion I don't think anyone will be using this future

Awesome For The Price!

I also just bought this tv locally from Frys for $799 with 2 pair of glasses. I have also noticed the same issue with the glasses turning off about every 10 minutes. Very annoying when playing a game online (Killzone 3). Hopefully theres a way to...

TV looks and works great ; Beautiful picture ; 2D to 3D is an awesome feature ; Great contrast ; Decent sound quality

No wireless adapter in box but can be purchased

Cannot beat the price/performance for a 3D experience!

Over the years, I've done reviews and have studied prior to purchasing. I did no different on this LG 60PZ550. I looked at nearly all brands of PLASMA TVs and finally fell into the LG realm. My first thought was to get the biggest/best, then I started...

Screen size ; 3D picture is really cool ; Actual picture quality ; Connectivity and features

No have for cons

Value will outweigh the picture compromises for most

(This review is my initial impressions. I have not performed an expert calibration yet. Will update posting after calibration)

Value - $1300-$1400 with two glasses after negotiating at local big box ; Good picture overall: Bright for a plasma, colors are saturated, good contrast to give it some "pop ; Attractively thin bezel design ; Good 3D performance from 3D sources ; Netcas

Glare. This TV makes no attempt to reduce reflections ; Some graininess, motion judder, color inaccuracy, banding, black level ; 2D-3D practically useless
