Eye-watering price, non-optimised user interface, micro-second processing lag, backlight uniformity issues

LG’s 84LM960V provides a mouth-watering taste of tomorrow’s TV tech. It’s the ultimate early adopter super-screen TV. You almost certainly can’t afford it, but that doesn’t make it any less fabulous.

LG continues the Ultra HD revolution with this impressive 84in monster.

4K pictures are unbelievably good ; Upscaled HD pictures look great too ; Impressive online and multimedia services

Looks stunning with Ultra high-def signals, but more ordinary elsewhere. That price is hefty, too

Looks stunning with Ultra High Def material ; Massive screen ; Good with Blu-ray ; Well-executed smart functionality ; Decent sound (yes, really)

Lack of 4K source material ; That price tag ; Poor with standard-def material ; Some minor issues with motion and naturalness with Full HD material

There’s no denying this is a hugely capable set – and that 4K capability is stunning. But getting decent source material is likely to be an issue for years to come.
