LG 42LV5500

We tend to give prominence to the "hero" models here at CNET, but there is an expectation that some of the technology found in high-end TVs will appear in some form in middle and lower-end sets as well. The LG LV5500 is a midrange TV that doesn't quite...

The relatively inexpensive LG LV5500 series evinced accurate colors and solid video processing. Its Smart TV Internet portal is well-designed with a solid selection of streaming services, and LG includes a Wi-Fi dongle. The secondary motion-sensitive...

The LG LV5500 series isn't able to dig as deep into the blacks as some competitors and evinced some blooming and loss of shadow detail. Screen uniformity and off-angle viewing were below par. Its external styling is underwhelming. The LW5500's Smart TV...

The LG 47LV5500 is a decent performer at its price level and features a great Smart TV package, but paying a little more for a different model would reap big rewards.

LG 19LE5300 Review – 19-inch LED HDTV

Surprisingly, LG has taken a lot of trouble to include most of the latest technologies in the 19-inch LED TV. This is usually the segment which is the given the least importance since it does not sell for a huge sum of money nor does it have an...

The refresh rate is also less at 60 Hz. But this is also enough for the smaller screen size. The images are quite distinct and there is no blurring or trailing which is really noticeable. Watching the action scenes is not expected to cause many...

LG 22LE5300 Review – 22-inch LED HDTV

If you have been wondering to gift your kids with an LED TV, then the LG 22LE5300 is a model that you can look out for. Unveiled at the popular electronic fair CES 2010, this HDTV is for those who do not want to buy a big TV and still want some high...

This particular model is also an energy efficient HDTV that would save electricity as you watch TV for hours. This model is expected to hit the market world wide in the first quarter of 2010 along with LG’s some very techy models that won several...

LG 26LE5300 Review – 26-inch LED HDTV

This is where LG starts making compromises with the price and the technology. This set is a step down version of the TVs announced this year. With the display resolution being reduced to 720p from the impressionable 1080p, the picture quality is a bit...

The refresh rate is 60 Hz which maybe a little less considering that the pricey 3D models to be launched this year have 480 Hz refresh rate. But it is expected that there will be no blurring or trailing behind in the images. The picture quality is...

LG 32LE5300 Review – 32-inch LED HDTV

Ensuring something for everyone, LG has come up with its wide range of LED TVs. Different sizes, different specifications and different pricing will offer every consumer an opportunity to make his choice as per his requirement. The LE5300 series likely...

As per the information supplied by the maker, the set seems to be a reasonably good model with decent features. However, the absence of some of the advanced functional features likes local dimming capability, NetCast Entertainment Access, Wireless HD...

LG 37LE5300 Review – 37-inch LED HDTV

With the aim to reach and woo more numbers of consumers, LG has introduced its new LE series of HDTVs which include wide range of varieties. The 37 inch model of LE5300 series launched by the brand is believed to be a step down from the LE5400 Series....

Though equipped with many quality features, the set definitely lags behind other high end models on several fronts like local dimming and 3D technology. Due to these missing features, the LG 37LE5300 may fail to woo consumers who want all the latest...

European Best Value LCD-TV 2010-2011 - LG 42LE5300

Only a few manufacturers offer a high quality 42¨ LED backlight HD TV for less than 1.000 Euro. This makes the LG 42LE5300 look like great value for money, particularly when you consider the list of value added features and connectivity options which...

Very Pleased!

This is my first flatscreen TV. I bought the TV based on 4 specific features: 120Hz refresh rate, the LED backlight (and resulting power savings), the ability to play video files from USB, and 24P Real Cinema feature. I'm glad I made the purchase....

Stunning picture quality with some of the deepest blacks and great color ; Sound quality is fine ; TruMotion is kinda neat ; Setup was easy ; Ability to play videos from a USB drive ; LED backlighting is adjustable ; Remote works just fine

Little bit Soap Opera

TV is very light and did not need any help on setup.

This is a great choice for those who want a TV in their bedroom as LED systems do not produce that much heat as older plasma or tube system did. Correction needs to be made on cnet about this TV as on the box it comes in says it has ... Expand full review

Calibration was a breeze and choosing inputs was easy as well. No learning curve using the menu system

Trying to use HDMI on a computer to go full screen does not really go FULL SCREEN. Not sure why

Product Specifications

The LG LE5300 Series LED TV is a great series of HD TVs. They start at just 22" (and have an equally small price), and go up to 55." The flagship feature in picture quality is the 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, which is exceptionally good. As for ports, the LG LE5300 Series has 2 USB ports as well as 4 HDMI ports. It also uses considerably less power than traditional fluorescent-backlit TVs. The LG LE5300 is aimed at being a smaller, budget TV. It doesn't have as many features as some of the newer, nicer HD LED LCD TVs, but it offers a reasonable feature set and an impressive picture for the price.
