LG 60PK950 Plasma TV

It might be true that plasmas are being shoved more and more into a niche market segment, due to the all pervading spread of the LCD, and now LED backed LCD HDTV, but there will always be a market that has informed and enthusiastic buyers. Not only...

At a MOP of Rs. 1,48,791, one has to realize that this TV is reasonably priced, as 60 inch plasmas by Panasonic or Pioneer are way more. The good thing here is that the quality offered is not far behind, and it is a sure improvement from previous...

LG Electronics Infinia 50PK950 50-Inch Plasma HDTV Review - PCWorld

The Sharp Aquos LC-52LE820UN offers good image quality, above-average audio, and energy efficiency, but its Internet and other features aren't the greatest, its design has serious shortcomings, and it's pricey for its screen-size class.

LG Infinia 60PK950

Many home theater fans will give plasma the nod over LCD and LED-based flat-panel displays, if only because plasma TVs nearly always exhibits perfect uniformity and off-angle viewing characteristics, and often have better black levels than LCDs do....

Produces relatively deep black levels; accurate color overall; correctly handles 1080p/24 sources; plenty of streaming and interactive features; extensive picture controls; sleek styling with single-plane design and 2-inch-deep panel; Magic Wand remote...

Near-black areas tinged bluish; less-accurate yellow and cyan; fewer apps and services than many other interactive models have; exhibits some temporary image retention; inefficient power use; Magic Wand remote feels like a gimmick.

LG's PK950 series plasma TV competes well against the picture quality of flagship models from other manufacturers.

LG 60PK950 Plasma HDTV First Impressions Review - Intro

The 60PK950 is LG's top-of-the-line plasma TV for early 2010. While more attention seems to have been paid to their LED televisions, the PK950 series features a robust internet package and (most likely) 3D display. While the TV certainly looks...

LG is still not ready to announce whether or not the PK950 series will offer 3D display. This is, of course, one of the deciding factors in making a final evaluation of the TV. They're also sitting on the price, as all the manufacturers are, which...

Best 50-inch plasma TV

Experts say the LG 50PK950 competes on an equal -- or better -- footing with premium sets from Samsung and Panasonic in all but one regard: it lacks 3D capability. The 50PK950 is packed with features, including some not found on other TVs. One...

Great picture quality, lots of features, wii-like remote control, tHX certification

Some picture-quality technical issues, wi-Fi requires optional dongle, no 3D, reflective screen

LG 60PK950 Review – 60-inch Plasma HDTV

With more developed technologies and better look, the new PK950 series of plasma HDTVs from LG are going to hit the market with gusto. Not only the enhanced design but also the reduced weight of the LG PK950 series has created a new buzz in the HDTV...

All models of LG’s PK950 series are DLNA compatible. The LG 60PK950 plasma HDTV with its wireless HD hub allows transmitting 1080p video from a distance up to 98 feet. Another attractive feature of the TV is the new magic wand remote of LG that allows...

LG Infinia 50PK950

We are impressed with the picture quality, the intuitive interface and the connectivity options of this LG plasma TV. It does use more energy than other TVs in our review, but that energy is put to good use. The LG Infinia 50PK950 has a clear picture,...

The LG Infinia 50PK950 has a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1

It is not Energy-Star qualified

It may use more energy than other TVs, but this plasma TV gives you sharp contrast, bright colors and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Arrived DOA. Has now developed a loud buzz.

Spend the extra dough and go for the Panasonic. Have 2 other Panny's in other rooms and have had no issues at all.

Excellent picture quality - Cnet was spot-on in review. Very good looking TV even when off

Purchased November 2010. TV arrived DOA. LG repaired within several days (main circuit board failed). After being on for appoximatley 1 hour the TV now has a very loud buzz. This started around mid-January. Horrible controls and fuctions

Consumer review by:

Best quality picture, controls are less than desired.

I would highly recommend this TV to anyone. But if you want to understand the things it does and how it does them, try driving it in a store before you buy it. Still haven't gotten the wireless internet to hook up to my router.

Picture quality is the best I've seen. Departing with a Panasonic 42" plasma that was nothing but problems and glad to see it go. The LG even picked up 60 more channels in digital cable that the Panny didn't even find. Easy to get around the menus

Controls are either missing or not user friendly at ALL. For example the go back or prev channel function does NOT exist. It found 60 more DTV signals but you have to select analog channels or digital channels. It doesn't just put them all together

Consumer review by:

Owned it 30 days & love it. No issues at all so far.

I researched for 2 months, reading on line reviews and talking to sales staff in a half dozen stores. In side by side comparisons I could only find 1 TV with a noticeable better picture (slightly) and it was a $5000 LG LED model over 3x what I paid for...

Picture and sound quality for the price as well as aesthetics, it's beautiful

Nothing so far. Slight image retention at shut down but it doesn't bother me
