Logik L423ED11

The Dixons Group's in-house brand lights a fire under 3D TV pricing with the ultra-affordable L423ED11. But is its price the only thing it's got going for it?

Unbelievably cheap ; 10 3D glasses included free ; Surprisingly good bright pictures

Black level response is very average ; Extremely limited viewing angles ; No Freeview HD tuner ; Colour balance issues

If it hadn’t been for the soothing tub of M&S Caramel Crispy Mini Bites we had sat next to us while testing the TV, the remote might very likely have ended up embedded in the L423ED11’s screen.

Dixons launches the cheapest 3D TV range ever, but is this 42-incher any good?

Insanely cheap for a 3D TV ; 10 pairs of glasses free ; Some multimedia support ; Passable sound ; Free 3D Blu-ray player at the time of writing

Poor viewing angles ; No Freeview HD tuner built in ; Average contrast performance

While TV manufacturers claim that they're satisfied with the sales of 3D TVs, to the outside observer it seems clear that 3D hasn't captured the public's imagination as strongly as the AV industry wanted (and possibly needed?) it to.
