Mitsubishi WD-60638 Review – 60-inch DLP RPTV

Being the only one left in the fray to produce rear projection TVs, Mitsubishi has its own clear advantage in this field. If you want a really huge TV for a lower price, then clearly this is the set for you. Having 3D technology adds to the appeal of...

The number of inputs has been compromised with in this set. There are only 3 HDMI, 2 component video and 2 composite video with a sore absence of S-video. There are also no ports on the side which makes it difficult to connect to the rear every time....

Awesome

I wanted some big bang for my buck and am not disappointed. This TV is everything I'd hoped it would be.

Works great. It's huge.

When the TV is on, I can see a small image projected onto the wall behind the TV. It doesn't bother me, though, as you can't see it unless you're looking behind the TV, and why would you do that?

Large

my wifi adapters (5 different USB) didn't work, not supposed to but thought I'd try

lots, and lots of real estate. a great deal bigger than a 50" TV, good picture, internet "capable"

bulb makes a high pitched noise when starting up. Takes a minute to start/shut off. Picture quality is not nearly as good a plasma, can notice the plastic screen, "swiggles". Off axis viewing is really noticeable, as little as 15 deg. (up, down, left,...

Sweet sweet TV

-Not as thick as you would think. Also the screen seems to emit not nearly as much heat as an lcd. -Takes a little while to shutdown (has to cool the bulb first). So be careful what buttons you press. If you accidentally hit the power, you have to wait...

LOTS of real estate. I use this tv to stream netflix to and game. Pull up full screen mario kart or fallout to wow your buddies, not to mention yourself the first time. Picture is amazing. Price can't be beat for the size (though it's listed as a...

-Not flat. You'll need to buy a stand. -You can hear the tv itself (the bulb fan). Not a big deal, except it can stick out if there's a silent moment in the movie/game. -The default color setting is kind of goofy.

Big Bang for your Buck

Newegg went with Ait with my shipping ( i heard they like the way Ait handles your merchandise better then other shippers, which they do) and it longer to get my order then i thought. It took about 20 days for shipping, but in their defense they help...

This is The perfect TV for a home theater style set-up, no squinting your eyes with this screen!! Plays Games great ( a Playstation 3) and you get immeresed into movies easily.

Unless you can see a 60" DLP in person you might not realize how thick the width of the back is. its not huge but its not like an lcd or plasma that is easily mounted, i recommend a stand.

Beautiful picture

You won't go wrong with this TV. The picture is stunning. It's inexpensive for the size and fairly thin compared to the old crt it replaced.

- A lot of screen for your dollar. - Picture is crystal clear. - Intuitive setup. Didn't even open the manual. - HD channels and HD movies are absolutely beautiful. - Light; only 60 pounds. - Got it on sale Black Friday with free shipping.

- Takes about 30 seconds to turn on and warm up. - I noticed if you accidentally turn off, it probably takes a minute to come back on. Bulb has to cool off and then the tv will allow it to come back on. - I could use one more HDMI input. It comes with...

Great buy

Sound isn't fantastic, but if you have a home theater setup, you'll already have another sound source. It's usable, but nothing mind blowing.

Huge amount of screen for relatively low price. The wow factor on this is pretty high. It has great colors, lots of screen real estate and is really easy to set up. It's light and easy to move around. I'm 100% happy with this purchase.

Would have been great if it came with at least 1 HDMI cable. Must buy those separately.

Can't beat it

I wanted to say something about the shipping here. I had read reviews about broken items shipped via truck, and NewEgg has a very difficult return policy on this large item. This item was ordered on Wed, shipped on Friday, and we received it on the...

This TV is awesome. The colors are bright, the blacks are dark, and there is no "rainbow" effect. One thing I noticed as well during setup there is a fan to keep the bulb cool, and the TV runs the fan after shutoff until the bulb is cool, this will...

The only con for us was being we had a rear projection TV previously we had to go out and buy a stand.
