Panasonic Viera TC-L42U30

The Panasonic TC-L42U30 (MSRP $799) is an entry-level 2011 model-year LED-backlit LCD TV with a very good viewing angle for an LCD screen. The 2011 model-year TVs are starting to do away with legacy analog ports, so this generation of LCD TVs will have...

The Panasonic TC-L42U30 ($799 MSRP) isn’t a completely terrible entry-level LED backlit LCD TV, but it certainly has its drawbacks. While it performed better in many areas that previous Panasonic LCD TVs fell short in, it still did not test very well...

Panasonic TC-L42U30

This Panasonic TC-L42U30 isn't the worst LCD TV out there. The Viera Link feature is useful; reducing your entertainment center to just one remote is certainly an attractive possibility. It is lightweight and consumes far less energy than the next best...

This television only consumes $16 worth of electricity per year

This LCD TV has a low contrast ratio and it is not available with a 55-inch screen

The TC-L42U30 looks great and sports a multimedia card reader, but the picture quality is not perfect.

This is a bare-bones LCD that can operate at 120hz.

This is a solid, name-brand LCD that is at least average for a budget ($600). The old saying, "You get what you pay for" applies to this and other HDTVs.

Though difficult to judge the picture quality when the signal is so compressed with Uverse, I would say it's about average. I found that 1080i works much better than 720p. If you add in 120hz, I would give the picture an above average rating

As with nearly all built-in speakers, I would have liked to hear more bass. Only three HDMI connections and only one component connection

I love it!

The color is great. The resolution reminds me of watching a movie in a theater. Would recommend this TV for any uses a buyer has in mind. I would not hesitate to buy this one again.

I am rating this TV based on its comparison to other similar sized LCD models that I attempted to live with recently. Otherwise, I would have given this TV 3 stars.

Fantastic TV for the money

I probably don't demand as much from my TV as some people. I use it for watching TV shows (a lot of sports) in HD, and for my PS3. I haven't yet tested it to see how it looks with the Blu-Ray player on my PS3, but games certainly look great. As for...
