Panasonic TC-PGT25

Although it does deliver excellent 2D picture quality, the 3D-compatible Panasonic TC-PGT25 series can't match the overall performance of the competition's best plasmas.

Superb black-level performance; accurate primary colors in THX mode; great color saturation; effective antireflective screen; uses less power than previous 1080p plasmas; VieraCast provides access to select Internet services and improved customization;...

Cannot properly handle 1080p/24 sources; loses some black-level performance over time; introduces artifacts in 3D mode; fewer streaming services and apps than the competition; uses more power than LCDs; does not include 3D glasses

Panasonic VIERA TC-P42GT25 42" Plasma TV

Think you're priced out of the 3D TV market? Think again. Panasonic's 42-inch plasma TC-P42GT25, the 3D version of their G25 line, is on sale these days for as little as $700 from some retailers and it's not a bad buy at that price.

Full set of Internet-connected features ; Inexpensive 3D TV

Blacks sometimes too black ; Oversaturated colors

The GT25 has great features for the price, but the image quality issues will deter discerning buyers with a bigger budget.

Panasonic Viera TC-P42GT25

Panasonic's first 3D TV, the TC-PVT25 series , earned our Editors' Choice award for its 2D picture quality, and in our opinion is currently the best overall TV you can buy. It's expensive, however, so the company decided to release a slightly cheaper...

Relatively affordable. Very good 2D and 3D picture quality. Deep blacks

Limited Web apps. Only 3 HDMI ports. Some standard-def image noise

Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50" THX 3D Plasma with 2D Conversion First Look

At a fairly reasonable $1,700 for the 42" TC-P42GT25 and $2,100 for the 50" TC-P50GT25, you're not exactly going to have to mortgage the house to one-up the Jones in the race for a 3D television.

If Panasonic decided to throw in a couple of pairs of glasses (or decrease the price of the ones they sell), the price of the GT line would be much more attractive. At $1,699.95 for the 42" TC-P42GT25 and $2,099.95 for the 50" TC-P50GT25, the price...
