Reproduces deep black levels and excellent shadow detail ; solid color saturation ; uses less power than previous 1080p plasmas ; adequate connectivity with three HDMI and two component-video inputs
Less accurate primary colors and color temperature ; skimpy picture controls ; still less efficient than comparable LCDs

The TC-P54S1 is an exciting 54 inch plasma television. It provides 1080p high-definition pictures and good sound from the built-in speakers. It is equipped with VIERA Image Viewer that allows you - in conjunction with SD memory card slot - to share ...

At the same time I bought this TV I bought a Panasonic Blue Ray player with VIERA Cast and VIERA Link this gives me the full set of features for less money than the same TV with the VIERA Cast built-in and so I effectively got the Blue Ray player for free...
This is a BIG TV. The picture is very nice and the setup was a snap. The TV is not too heavy and not too thick - has a lot of inputs for new and older gear. The value of this TV is difficult to believe - 2 years ago you couldn't buy a 37" TV for this pric...
The sound is just OK - not as good as my older 42" Pioneer
For the guy who had a defective model, that stinks, but it's not a fair to one star the TV over a defective model. I do agree that Panasonic should RMA your unit free of charge while under warranty.
HD picture is insanely crisp and clean. Use Cinema setting or custom set it with info from avs forums
