Panasonic Viera TC-P65V10 Plasma HDTV First Impressions Review - Intro

The TC-P65V10 is a 65-inch plasma, making it one of the larger plasmas we've reviewed this CES. The TV is thin, measuring only 2 inches from front to back. The set features Panasonic's VIERA Cast and Image Viewer, which let the TV stream video and...

Compared to the TC-P54Z1 and TC-P54G10, the TC-P65V10 seems unimpressive. It doesn't have the ease of access or picture quality (at least to our eyes) as the TC-P54G10, and it doesn't have the sleek, virtually cord-free design of the TC-P54Z1. It does...

Panasonic VIERA TC-P58V10 Plasma HDTV

For many reasons, not the least of which is the sheer brightness that grabs eyeballs on the showroom floor, LCD HDTVs now outsell plasmas by a significant margin.

Panasonic TC-P54V10 Review

The V10 series from Panasonic comes in large sizes, being addressed to those videophiles that love a nearly life like experience when watching their favorite shows or movies. Panasonic TC-P54V10 is considered by many to be the rightful replacement for...

Best black levels from any 2009 HDTV (plasma or LCD) ; Very good video processing with smooth 1080p/24 playback ; THX mode (accurate colors out of the box) ; Plenty of connectivity options (4 HDMI connectors) ; Beautiful slim design (2 inch) ; Plenty...

Colors are not perfect if not in THX mode ; Standard definition performance is satisfactory but not great ; Being a high-end plasma TV, it is relatively expensive

Besides exhibiting the new NeoPDP panel type and the one sheet of glass design, Panasonic TC-P54V10 lacks nothing in terms of quality. Displaying great black levels and accurate shadow details, coming front with enhanced video processing, when using...

Product Specifications

VIERA's wide color gamut covers 120% of the HDTV color standard. This approaches the level of colors in cinemas and produces images with extremely rich colors. THX reproduces movie images exactly as the movie's creators intended them. In the early 1980's, Lucasfilm, established the THX Standard to stipulate the audio and video quality criteria for cinema environments. The overall aim was to improve the experience of cinema-goers and faithfully recreate the audio and visual ambience that film makers intended. VIERA meets the high standards set by the THX Certified Display Program. Enjoy the Internet contents right on your TV. With VIERA CAST technology, you can enjoy online content such as videos, photos, weather and stock information through an easy-to-use Web interface that's built into the TV. No extra equipment required. 600Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects. The VIERA model Panasonic TC-P54V10 incorporates an improved panel production process and the Real Black Drive system. A pre-discharge control system, the Real Black Drive system combines with NeoPDP technology to achieve next-generation black reproduction. When you're watching movies, VIERA renders images just the way the director intended, even in scenes where it's difficult to achieve a proper balance of light and dark.
