Panasonic TH42PA20UP . The true giant killer.

Contrast and shades of grey to black are top cabin.

Heavier than expected. Sound system is fair.

Top Notch

Not bad for my first foray into the Hi-Def market. I did alot of research before I finally settled on plasma. Research further indicated that if you go plamsa, go Panasonic. Plenty of bang for the buck. I was nervous about ordering online, but with...

I haven't tinkered much with the picture settings yet but I thought it looked amazing right out of the box. There are enough connections for all my game consoles and gadgets. Games seem to play great even when not in game mode

I would have liked a PC connection, but I have a DVI-HDMI cable hanging around I can use. Otherwise, I can't really complain ; You can't adjust the stand, though I admit I'm not familiar with typcial HDTV stand adjustability

Great picture after setting it up

Stock settings (all of them) were to bright, to dim, lacked contrast. Played around some with the settings, googled some, and now it looks awesome. Four days in and my jaw still drops when I look at it

Crisp, no ghosting like an LCD even in games ; Lots of display mode / configuration options ; Arrived earlier than expected ; AIT guy helped me carry it in and unbox ; Excellent first time setup wizard when you fire it up, my mom could have figured...

Packed only in original box, some box damage, luckily none to screen side ; High definition, no ghosting and large size lets my wife with her rotten eyesight catch up to me in BF2, unlike with the LCD we had hooked up to it before where I could easily...

First Awesome TV

I can't wait to get my PC in on this action.

The size, the picture, the sound (compared to other TVs I've seen/heard I thought this one was decent), stand installation, settings/adjustment to audio and video, and shipping. These things were all PROs for sure. I didn't have any issues doing...

I forgot to pick up an HDMI cable to use from my cable box/PC and my TV wouldn't go get one for me :( so I have to go get it myself

Outstanding detail

Don't play the numbers game and be fooled with contrast ratios. The bottom line is paying extra for a higher contrast ratio is just waste of money.

Solid colors and deep blacks. Contrast ratio is more than sufficient with this model. Remote layout is excellent

Audio is adequate

Gorgeous Picture

Panasonic knows how to make plasma TV"s This one is far superior to the C series in my honest opinion and if calibrated correctly is VERY close to the G series. Without all the extras that you can obtain by simply connecting your PC via HDMI. Excluding...

This TV has a Gorgeous Picture if calibrated correctly

My First one was defective

Blown Away

Overall the TV is awesome! It's way bigger than I thought it would be. It even looks bigger than my 46' DLP TV. The only thing I need now is HD programming

Amazing Picture ; Viewing angle is way better than my LCD ; Fairly easy setup ; Good remote control

Picture settings need to be adjusted ; SD Channels look SD ; Sound settings also need adjusting

Awesome TV for a great price

Looking forward to 2012 plasmas. Panasonic recently aquired Pionner's plasma technology. By 2012, most of their TVs should be 3D and will look out of this world for a good price.

The picture is great. I have the TC-P58S2. They don't sell that TV here, so I reviewed this TV ; In the store it looked bad since they had it on vivid, but after these settings are typed in I'm pretty blown away ; Contrast 71 ; Brightness 60 ; Color 47...

More picture controls would be nice ; On my set, there happens to be a slight buzz. Everyonce in a while I notice it ; I am in the process of sorting this out with Panasonic

Product Specifications

The realism of a TV's image is strongly linked to its contrast ratio, and this plasma features a high contrast ratio of up to 3000: 1. Such a wide range from black to white means great depth and dimensionality with vibrant colors. Deep blacks provide excellent shadow detail during dark scenes, while brilliant whites allow the plasmas to render bright scenes with vivid realism. Sports, movies, and original network programming are all available in high definition from many local broadcasters. Receive and view local over-the-air broadcasts on this plasma in stunning HDTV clarity using the built-in HDTV tuner. If your cable company passes through HDTV broadcasts from local broadcasters, you can decode and tune those as well.
