Panasonic VIERA TH-42PV60A

Panasonic's third rendition of its popular 42-inch Viera plasma, the TH-42PV60A, is sharper in picture and much sharper in price, but it's not quite as sexy as it used to be.

Housed in a very compact cabinet ; Accurate, natural colour ; Detailed blacks ; Two HDMI inputs

Analog tuner only ; Rather plain design ; Basic functionality package

Where Panasonic really scores points is in turning out an HD plasma with a high standard picture quality at a sub-AU$4000 price point. Given that two years ago the equivalent model listed for AU$8799 (we reviewed the 50-inch version) and last year's...

Fantastic picture quality and my favourite purchase this year.

Fantastic picture quality

Great Tv but with the falling quality of free to air television broadcasts in Australia you will probably need pay TV or DVD to enjoy it

Panasonic VIERA TH-42PV60A

great price $2060 with 5yr waranty and HDMI cable, picture and slim design. I wanted a display without inbuilt digtal tuner which would not be used as I have a sd set top box. Plans for the future are to add HD PVR when prices drop a bit. Cannot fault...

Picture clarity, brightness, style, 2 x HDMI inputs, simplicity

speakers, but not used in home theatre set up. Wall mount would have been good inclusion

Why would you bother with an LCD worth a $1000 more when you can have this beauty. I paid $1700 at JB HIFI. No LCD washed out blacks and foxtel using component output looks top notch. I also agree with the other comments that an external HD box works...

Picture can't be beat ; Price ; HDMI x 2

Does look a touch dated next to the jazzy LG's and Toshiba's ; Sound passable ; Remote confusing at best

Panasonic VIERA TH-42PV60A

I have had mine for 2 weeks, and it is amazing, I only paid 1900 Aust for it. The colour is amazing when hook up to a hi end DVD upscaling unit, and high def STB looks excellent thru it too. Theonly problem I see with it is the clour adjusments in the...

Blacks are awesome ; Nearly impossible to get burn-in phenomena ; 2 hdmi inputs rock

Menus and colour adjustment lack
