Panasonic TX-L42E30B review

Ask any AV enthusiast to recommend a plasma TV and they'll invariably mention Panasonic. The same isn't always true of LED TVs, though – something the PDP giant will hope to change with its new 2011 range of LED sets.

Blu-ray pictures; attractive design; fast, intuitive GUI; multimedia applications

Off-axis viewing reveals light pooling; no web browser

Sophisticated, but only occasionally excellent mid-range 32-incher with Viera Connect

Decent value ; Impressive apps-oriented online platform ; Some strong picture points ; Excellent build quality

It can be tricky to get motion and contrast looking just right ; No open web browser ; More picture adjustments would be nice

Cutting-edge technology, in the form of Panasonic's Viera Connect online platform, a new faster-responding panel design and an effective edge LED lighting system that helps enable intermittently outstanding pictures are set against awkward contrast...

Not bothered by 3D? Panasonic's new 42-inch LCD TV be right up your street

Classy design and build ; Impressive picture and sound performance ; Smart TV features ; Fast and easy to use ; Freeview USB recording

Lack of 3D support might be a concern to futureproofers ; No unrestricted web browsing ; Limited picture adjustments

The 40/42-inch flatscreen market may be one of the most competitive, but Panasonic's TX-L42E30B offers enough to stand out. Good-looking, well connected and a top performer, it's definitely worth auditioning.

Advanced networking is the trump card of this connected LED TV

Comprehensive network media streaming support ; Viera Connect IPTV and apps portal ; Improved user interface ; Good picture performance ; Freeview HD tuner

Motion artefacts caused by Intelligent Frame Creation processing ; Ordinary sound ; Black level not as deep as the competition

Panasonic Viera E30 (TX-L32E30B) review

If you want a slim LED TV that offers great picture and audio quality, the 32-inch Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B is an excellent option. It also offers good media-streaming and Internet capability.

Smooth motion ; Warm, cinematic colours ; Impressively sharp images ; Good media streaming and Internet features

Guide Plus+ EPG is poor

Overall, the Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B offers very little to complain about. It delivers clean and sharp pictures with bags of rich colour, both from standard- and high-definition sources, and its audio quality is a cut above that of numerous rivals....

Panasonic Viera E30 (TX-L42E30B) review

For those not interested in 3D, the Panasonic Viera TX-L42E30B is one of the better 2D-only LED sets around, offering excellent picture and sound quality. Its Internet features only serve to sweeten the deal.

Great standard- and high-definition performance ; Rich colours ; Sharp detail ; Good Internet features

The Guide Plus+ EPG is a monstrosity

The Panasonic Viera TX-L42E30B has few flaws. It works its magic in the picture department no matter the quality of the signal you feed it, its audio is beefier than you'd expect, and its Internet and media-playback features are up there with the best...

The first TV from Panasonic's 2011 range is here. But we're not sure it's a great indication of what's to come.

Not a bad price for what's on offer, Online and multimedia features are welcome, Good colour handling

Black levels not the best, Some motion problems, No web browser

Panasonic Viera TX-L32E30B review

While we've been big fans of Panasonic's plasma TVs, we've never been quite so enamoured with the LCD models; having found them to lag behind the competition in both quality and looks. This year, things could be different as Panasonic has completely...

It may not be cheap, but the quality is amazing and the list of features huge.
