Multimedia features and fine HD pictures make for a fine 46" LCD TV

Good HD performance ; Good judder control ; Great black levels

SD is a bit rubbish ; Colours can be a bit off

A superlative set with HD, but problems pop up when watching ordinary TV

A feature-packed 42" plasma HDTV that delivers top class pictures

Inky black levels ; Super sharp HD pictures ; Onboard Freesat tuners

Boring design ; Standard picture presets need tweaking ; Drab EPGs

Pristine picture quality and a fabulous lineup of features make this another superb plasma from Panasonic

Panasonic Viera TX-P42G15 42in plasma TV

John dips into yet another new TV range from Panasonic with this Full HD 42in gem.

Although it takes a bit of initial work to get the best out of the P42G15, making us wish Panasonic had put a bit more effort into its picture presets, it's still entirely capable of being an excellent TV.

A cracking Freesat TV. If you want a Plasma with free HD channels, buy one

Great picture, stacks of features, good price for a plasma

Factory settings could be less brash

The Panasonic TX-P42G15 is a 42-inch “NeoPDP” plasma television with a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, built-in Freesat tuner, four HDMI inputs and networking capabilities allowing you to access digital videos, music and photos from any DLNA compliant...

For the price it’s hard to think of a better performing plasma TV, or one packed with so many features. If Freesat, media playback and Internet connectivity are all things you look for in a TV, the Panasonic TX-P42G15 hits all these marks perfectly....

Looks good when the TV is switched off. Viera Cast and ability to play DivX video files via Twonky Media Server. HD Picture can be quite good with some material

PQ is rubbish compared to my last plasma (and my friends three year old Pioneer) ; Fiddling around with the sparse settings Panasonic give us in the UK does not give a decent PQ in the preferred Cinema mode due to the gamma 2.0 setting. Normal mode...

Internet access to some services. Simple camera to TV transition using an SD card

Not yet found out how to edit videos from an SD card, via a computer, and back to an SD card in the correct format. The Panasonic & Sony version of MP4 differs from that used in computer programmes
